Le Fleuron 1729 - 64 Gun Ship PoB Scratch Build in 1:48 - (Ancre Monograph-J. Boudriot/G. Delacroix)

I have been catching up on logs and was saddened to read your post about the loss of your father. My sincerest condolences to you and your family Ken.

May your birthday be a day full of family and good memories.

Dear @Uwek, @Mirek, @dockattner, @Steef66, @RogerD, @Daniel20, @Jimsky, @shota70, @Tobias,

First, apologies for my late response. Thank you ALL for your well wishes! It truly means a lot.

Life has me busy....still. It seems I was a little optimistic when last I shared I'd be back soon. Rather that than my "glass half empty".

I will continue to work through things and again, hope to be back soon.

I hope you and yours are well.

Happy belated birthday Birthday-Cake
I thought it wasn't a good time to make such wishes.
I hope you're also well

Hoss6262, This is EXACTLY the article I am looking for when I retire from the U.S. Navy (for the 2nd time) and start the build of my Great Grandfather's (x4) ship HMS Euryalus. I do not have the skills to cut the frames to do the POF but a POB using plywood I think I can accomplish. The "Long Yard on the Mast" is, I have to retire and set up my final home. 50% is already in work, I was extended here in Spain until August 2027 at which time I will finally retire after 45 years (24 active duty, 21 Civil Service) the other 50% is where in Spain I plan to set up shop. This gives me ample time to digest your Log and gain more skills/Information from the rest of the members here. THANKS!

Hello Everyone,

It's been about ONE YEAR since my last project update. Honestly, I've lost track of time. Unfortunately, 2024 has been a year of "loss" for our family. Patriarch from one side, and Matriarch from the other, then a Brother-in-Law, much too early (61) to RSV. We all understand the cycles of life, but no matter what, logic does nothing to prevent the emotion of loss. There, that is out of the way.

I have been doing a little work on my ship, but up until now, it's been nothing more than a convenient distraction from other things—certainly not enough progress to post and force my friends to read. I had to reintroduce myself to my ship, as I had forgotten where I left off, partly due to time and partly due to senior memory. I used to take good notes, but I forgot this time.

I will be posting again, once I feel I've made enough progress to do so. In the meantime...

Happy New Year!! Here's wishing you all a wonderful 2025, personally and in your building endeavors!

Cheers!

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words, truly humbling. The camaraderie of SoS defines my 2nd family. Let me say that it was not all sadness. Grieving gave way, quickly, to the jubilant celebration of life and many fond and hilarious stories. Life here is finite, love is eternal. You guys are great.

We're with you Ken. Our personal lives sometimes make modelling seem unimportant or trivial. But then you come back to it and suddenly you achieve something you are very proud of and the world is set right again.
My wife and I have had RSV during the latter part of 2024 and it is no joke, for sure. My wife is still not quite cured.
Take care and I look forward to your build update when the time is right.
