I know that, I think it has happened to everyone at some point. When I have to mill very thin parts, I like to work with double-sided tape for support, it's a little safety net.
Certainly, the most expensive but effective way to learn..Yea bummer. Mistakes are learning tools !
My favorite shop tool ! I think you will eventually want an auxiliary 'plate' as the table it a bit too far from the disc. I am using a rectangular metal scraper (doubled-sided) taped to the table that comes with the sander... The variable speed is the bomb!New "friend" helping with sanding arrived yesterday...

Yes, I do have it ready.... learned from my older sanding disk where a used an aluminum plate with double-side tape (same as you) glued to the table... the gap was about 4mm between table and disk, way to big for our needs...My favorite shop tool ! ...Umm... am I hearing it right, color is an important criterion.Variable speed was the most important criteria for this tool.. besides the colour
Oh absolutely, it matches my mini mill.... imagine having a black mill and green sander on the desk......Umm... am I hearing it right, color is an important criterion.
I guess I’m in trouble then as I have Grey, orange, green, and what might be tan on the bench.Oh absolutely, it matches my mini mill.... imagine having a black mill and green sander on the desk...
Oh...I see, it has to match a GreenMat® Now I get it!!Oh absolutely, it matches my mini mill.... imagine having a black mill and green sander on the desk...
Yes, you have to match the cutting mat... new cutting mat = new tools... here is a very good excuse for admiral..Oh...I see, it has to match a GreenMat® Now I get it!!
I think you were put some thoughts before and not made similar mistake so no need to match colours...Unfortunately, I didn't have a board in yellow or green.
That is definitely a good idea..Yes, I know the problem. Here is my solution: I used a piece of parquet flooring because it has a smooth and even surface. I glued a square to the back so I can put it in the guide rail and move it back and forth.

I just used double stick tape but I like Tobias’ option as there have been several times that I wished to use the miter gauge and didn’t because I was to lazy to pull up the board and reattach it.That is definitely a good idea..
Have two questions for your fine people out there...
How are you cutting those small notches on g2 part?
View attachment 452258
I have made few attempts, first accidentally cut extra wood while using milling bits and end of first part ( in red) and not sure how much might be visible at the end..
Second attempt is still kind of OK and it might be used but need to cut those tiny notches..

The third one is damaged when I drilled too deep a pilot hole to make notches making process a bit easier..
So the question is how did you guys made those tiny notches?
Also, what would be the best way of doing those angle cuts on a1 and a2 parts?I tried to use scrapping method which kind of works fine but would like toklnow is there some better way without investing extra in some equipment, specially angled vise?
