LE ROCHEFORT - Harbour yacht from 1787 1:36 by Tobias (Monograph by ANCRE)

Coming along well Tobias, looks beautiful.
Thanks Adi, I'm always happy when you drop by.
Witaj Tobiaszu czy między deski poszycia dajesz brązowy papier czy farbkę. Pozdrawiam Mirek

Hello Tobias, do you put brown paper or paint between the sheathing boards. Regards, Mirek
Hello Mirek, to answer your question, I use brown tissue paper with 35g, it is very easy to work with. Thank you, of course, for your kind words.
Impressive to see how the floor is filling, Tobias. A nice fit of the planks.
Regards, Peter
Also to you Peter a thank you for the visit always welcome, well at the moment it's like in the film "groundhog day" a few more days then I hope this section will be done. Then Le Rochefort will take a summer break.
Très beau travail que ce Rochefort.
Admiration totale à Tobias qui réussi l’exploit incroyable, de pouvoir réaliser deux modèles de grande qualité
en même temps: L'Amarante et le Rochefort.

Very nice work that this Rochefort. Total admiration to Tobias who achieved the incredible feat of being able to make two high quality models at the same time: Amarante and Rochefort.
Jacques, thank you for the great compliment from you, much appreciated. We know each other from the French forum and I admire your La Belle Poule, it's a jewel that I'm still very far away from.

Also a big thank you to everyone who left a like, it's always very motivating when you get such positive feedback.

Hello everyone and thank you for your visit and interest.

The summer in Bavaria has been in full swing for almost four weeks and so I like to enjoy the mild evenings by the pool with my wife and a glass of wine. Every now and then I get lost in my workshop and adjust the remaining floorboards in the interior. As I have already mentioned, this is very sluggish because the floorboards have to be watered in order to bring them into shape in the rear area. In addition, there is the need to stick on the tissue paper and the limited space inside. So I can do a maximum of two rows per evening, but the gap is narrowing and an end is in sight. I wish you all a great start into the upcoming weekend, mine is going to be very hard starting tomorrow my friend's bachelor party is coming up and we're doing the whole weekend with a trip to Pilsen, I took Monday off to be on the safe side. There are times (especially at the bow of a ship) when the number of strakes goes from two to one (when the plank would have to otherwise be narrowed to less than 50% of it's original width). This is a drop plank (or drop strake). Anyways, I'm wondering if that is also done on the interior?

Okay now I know what you mean, I wasn't exactly sure about this, thanks for the explanation. Well, at Le Rochefort, three of these drop planks were installed in the bow area in the middle part, it was the same at La Palme.

A good question about the strakes or drop planking of the interior walls
I made it once, whithout knowing in my Salamandre, and learnt later by the Rochefort - yes - seems, that did itr sometimes with strakes

Tobias - looking at your photos, I thought, that you have shrinked your model into 1:96 when you look at your clamps you used..... seems that you have the very big size of these clamps also

Hello everyone, @Uwek yes you could almost believe that Le Rochefort has shrunkROTF, but the large clamps are very practical, they have good power to work in the bends.

So it's almost done and only one gap is missing, this will be fitted in the next few days and then Le Rochefort will go on summer break.

The first preparations have already been made, the plans for La Palme are already hanging.

A very nice fit of the planking, Tobias.

Dear Tobias. Finally I can return all the well wishes. What a beautiful Le Rochefort you are building - in some ways she reminds of the La Belle. That interior floorboard planking is simply exquisite - the tidiness is something to behold while the accuracy is perfect! Well done, my friend!

Hello Heinrich, thank you for your kind words. The planking was a bit of a challenge with all the tissue paper and the tightness inside. I think it would have been nicer to work on a scale of 1:24.

ROTF Hi guys,
greetings from sunny Croatia from the island of Hvar. The weather is great and we have 33 degrees. See you soon back at the shipyard.

Good morning Tobias. It is a beautiful place. Short story: I “lost” my 18 year old daughter there. She met up with buddies (by chance ) from University and they went partying. She sent a WhatsApp but I didn’t get it so at 3am in the morning we are searching the Island for her. I wasn’t a happy camper. All ended well tho. Enjoy your time there. Cheers Grant
