Le Saint Philippe 1693 after Jean-Claude Lemineur (Ancre) in scale 1:48

Good morning Paul. It is always a pleasure to read your log. Just having the internal structures of this cross section will make for interesting viewing - no doubt. The fact that it is beautifully crafted more so.

Of course your philosophical meanderings are thought provoking and strike a cord in many of us I’m sure……well mostly ROTF.

Cheers Grant

I’m pages and pages behind again but catching up is always a pleasure seeing your latest excellent work Paul.

(I agree with what Grant wrote in his post above, especially the reference to philosophical meanderings ROTF).

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!
I completely agree on working on the detail in front of me… Most of the time. It has happened that not looking ahead causes challenges down the road.
I appreciate the musings on focusing on the tasks in front of me and not becoming overwhelmed by the enormity of the tasks ahead.
Wise counsel!

Hello friends!

There was very little progress this week. Between the Olympics and a staff retreat my workbench was pretty quiet. Still, even small steps are steps.

Ledges for the 2nd deck:

The working end of the tiller:

I still need to add a shoe that will engage with the tiller sweep (pictured below with a drawing):

The tiller sweep will be mounted to the underside of the beams of the second deck. This means the sweep shown above has a round-up that matches the round-up of the beams of the second deck. It will all make more sense later. Or not .

Thanks for stopping by!

Maybe it's just me, but sounds complicated.
Good luck and success in your endeavours.
