Hi ,Vic your model is coming on nicely, that's the same bell that was supplied with my Black Pearl it didn't fit so I had to cut it down.
Is that sauer kraut on the hot dog??

That's exactly what I did, Tony. I think I saw that somewhere else. Maybe it was your build?
Anyone know what this post/bit is for and if it’s facing the correct direction? I assume it’s supposed to have a pulley inside the square hole, but I’m not sure of its use or facing. The directions have a picture of one, but it has no hole.

Thanks, Gilbert. I took it off, put a pulley in it, and stuck in back on.mine is in the opposite direction
Now I’ve cut off the top of the bell and removed the clapper. Put in pulleys into theBig posts and brushed with polyurethane. 
Did the same for main mast bits.
Some of you may wonder why I go into so much detail. I know many of you are much more experienced and knowledgeable than I. You may see something I could do better. Others may be as green as I. (I’m a permanewb.) Maybe they can learn something from my mistakes. Who knows? I just know I’m enjoying it. Thanks for watching.

I'll tell you before it's too late. There should be three pulleys in this biteng. Here passes the turnbuckle of the main-yard halyard, fore-yard. On the very halyard of the yards, a large three-piece block is involved. Due to the fact that the yards of the foremast and mainmast are heavy, they are wrapped through three-pin blocks. Isn't that in the instructions?
