Test fitting some frames. Some are pretty tight.

Some are pretty tight.

My frames sit VERY tight in the Bluenose jig. A light sanding of the top-timber of these frames (or a quick run of a file through the notches of the jig) will ease that a bit.

PVA without question - as that will result in the neatest application.

I find that Lepage Pro high initial tack carpenters glue works very well.

Test fitting frames 1& 49 to the keel.
Is 49 on ok or should it slide on a little farther?

Terry if you look at this picture of the Chinese test build, you will see that Frame #49 almost touches the bevel line on Part #18. Judging by this, I would say that your frame needs to be seated slightly deeper.

I am progressing a little at a time.
I am using my old scroll saw with a sanding stick to make fitting the frames a little easier.

I am confused as to where are the parts? I found a couple but not sure.
Can someone slap me on the forehead and set me on a true course?

Hi Terry,
I think the (bottom) tips of the frames /|_|\ should touch the begin of the rabbet. Otherwise the hull planks of the starboard port side will not nicely slice into the rabbet.
Otherwise: where is the rabbet for?
But perhaps @Heinrich can conform this.
