Model VICTORY by Deagostini, scale 1/84

Colleagues, hello everyone and have a nice day. Thank you all for your support and comments. If they are watching my assembly, then someone is interested. Well, I'll continue. As I wrote earlier, I started trimming the aft galleries. The work turns out to be very painstaking, so it does not move very quickly. The result of the work on the photo.

Some of the window frames were damaged in the process, but I ordered a new set. And he is already waiting for me at the post office. Damaged frames will be replaced.

Good morning Sasha. The aft galleries on the Victory are ridiculously difficult. I have viewed countless model builds of this ship and from kit failures to Grants hack I have seen a minute few who get these spot on. You are one of those few. Excellent Sasha. Cheers Grant

Now I have painting decor. I began to mock my eyesight and decided not to paint like on the original. All decor will be in the color of gold. First, I blackened the metal (you can see it in the first photo), then covered it with a hard brush with almost dry paint. it will look like the picture

Sasha, on the topmost photo the ship looks nice in dark tones. I wonder what kind of wood could be used to get this look? Probably walnut is the only choice? I don't really like it...

Although, what I'm talking about, there must be copper there.

However, for ships without copper, the question remains
IMHO, that ship needs paint and copper sheeting or plates. I like the Mantua sheets of copper plating is several different scales. I am building an old Mamoli kit produced as late as 1991 using Mantua's product, a 1/160 copper plating for their own 1/1/170 scale HMS Victory. The scale difference is not noticeable: It looks great.

designed the roof of the side galleries, and made a gunwale at the top of the gallery. most of all I had to work hard for semicircular elements. First, I bent a black hornbeam 5 x 2 mm. After that, the yellow hornbeam and then connected the two parts together. And only after that he pecked. The result satisfies me.
