Montañés by Sevish - OcCre kit

I am sanding and repairing some issues in my planking now. I felt that this was a difficult ship to plank....I have to admit, I am very happy to be finished with this stage and looking forward to the sanding as well. There were some tough angles on this project. I am going to see how the sanding comes out with the idea that I might copper plate the hull if I don't like the way it comes out after sanding.

Indeed , difficult ship to plank.
After starting to plank and went under the water line i started to plank in smaller segments and it went faster and much easily.

Eish…..a lot of work, however they do add plenty authenticity to the ship. Enjoy…I think;)
Indeed ,but the outcome will beautiful, i hope .
And yes, lots of enjoyment XD

Oglądając twoją pracę nad poszyciem zastanawiałem się czy będziesz kładł drugą deskę czy blaszki miedziane . Kupiłeś wiele fajnych dodatków i zbudujesz piękny model. Pozdrawiam Mirek
Thank you Mirek .
The plan is to copper the hull.
And yes for this ship there are lots of upgrades .

Congratulations for reaching this important milestone
Good that you had some helping hands to do this important step with the last plank

Hi Sevish
I would like to get this information source, especially if based on contemporary information, to add to the collection of cannon drawings I now on hand for the future. Thank you very much in advance.
Allan
Hi Sevish
Have you had any luck finding where you found the information based on contemporary sources? Thanks again

I done little digging.
first this document:

I based on the Spanish 18th iron ordnance M1783
and crosponding with the information in Wikipedia about the armament of 1805

also take notice that in the section of
the Spanish Gribeauval System 1765-1808 , they don't talk about usage in the navy and the system didn't had 18 pounder guns.

If i'll find some more time and info i will write to you.
hope it will be helpful for now.

Cheers
Guy

Hi sevish,

have you determined the waterline? I am interested in where you will begin the copper plating in relation to the lower rubbing strakes.

Good morning gents.
After two weeks of vacation and few days of working,i finally finished the the hull.
Now the ship ready for the painting and afterwards the coppering.

while placing the keel, post stern and stem i encountered small location proble.
the post stern has is exact location.

the steam was little bit tricker.
With the instruction illustration showing this diagram for placing the stem.

I used this illustration to set the position of the stem using the vertical prolongation and the knighthead more accurately.

And the final result.

Good evening Guy. Ahh, those “ta daa” moments…..your fix worked really well and the planking is ready for the “gazzilion “ little copper plates. Way to go. Cheers Grant
