It’s 32” long x 8” wide, so while planking the hull it seems massive!
Well it is a Danish Norwegian ship, so that has Viking roots…there could be a story there.AAAhhh! But to do that, the ship that you build has to be steeped in controversy and mystery! They don't come any more mysterious or controversial than the WB!
This weeks progress update…
The keel has been finished on the starboard side. Port side bow keel piece is on the work table for reference. After planking there are 3 pieces added to the thickness of the keel. 1 at the bow, 1 at the stern, and 1 plank in between.
Then I did final sanding and painting of the white below the water line on the starboard side hull.
Also I am making good progress on planking the port side hull. I am about 75% done.
It’s been a productive week!
ps - hull planks are 2mm thick x 7mm wide! Not the easiest to bend, but plenty of thickness to sand. I would have preferred 1.5mm thick x 5mm wide. I think that would have been easier to work with and probably more to scale. If I had to do it over, I would have purchased 5mm planks.

As a reminder, the above Danish Norwegian ship represents my paint scheme. Looking forward to being able to stain and add the black and gold. Then it will all start to come together.

Thanks Paul! It certainly has been a lot of work to get this far! I couldn’t tell you how many boards have gone on…lol. But we know the most work is getting the decks in and hull planked. After that, it is all eye candy!

Today I finished planking the hull! Now to sand it and finish the keel, and the white paint below the water line.
But I decided to reward myself with some play time. Got a pool toy!
