NORSKE LOVE - Billing Boats 1:75 scale

Dean, it is such fun to watch your work. The extra step did the trick!
Thank you Daniel! The more I looked at it, the more I knew I had to change it... and the extra step was exactly what was needed! ;)
dear dean,
thank you for sharing your beautiful work. I particularly appreciate the accuracy work. For me, this phase of construction was one that gives the most satisfaction. The model becomes more and more beautiful day by day... I look forward what comes next ! :)
Thank you very much William! I am glad you are onboard, since you built this ship, I am sure you can appreciate the challenges and choices to be made at each phase of construction! ;)
Such nice work Dean!
Thank you Paul! I am trying to ensure I build a decent version of the NL, with decisions at each step! ;)
The stairs are nice AL-parts, Dean. The ‘tree of a kind’ looks better.
Regards, Peter
Thank you Peter! I am using AL if I think it will result in a better model. ;)

Next up…the cat davit…

Not much breathing room on the pulleys!
Next was paint, before final installation of the pulleys…

Next was the Lion…yikes! So tiny it’s hard to get the phone to focus on it!
First attempt…

Looked like a panther with a beard! ROTF
So in the trash!

Not as good as the other side, but I give it a pass because it’s just so small that detail is almost impossible!
Hope you all agree… ;)

Well, this part is scary, because you have to get out the hand saw and commit. ;)

After making the cut for the cat davit, it was installed along with the end pieces that the bow rail will sit on…

Some overall pics of this side…it still needs nails on the wales…Hmmm…that’s catchy… ROTF

Next will be the bow railing and posts… ;)

Bow railing done…for now…will probably add the modification on the posts. ;)

Good morning Dean. Your panther with a beard is stunning. I think your Lion in the cage will be happy with that. You are charging along! I am stunned how you achieve such brilliant detail so quickly. Skills. I take a day to cut out a gun port…and then it’s still not square ROTF. Cheers Grant

Looking great, unfortunately way above my paycheck. ROTF

Thanks Grant! I don't really work fast, just put in more hours! ROTF Your work is really looking good on the Xebec. :)
Those step really add credibility, also more aligned with the other details you added.
Thank you, I just wasn't happy looking at the large offset on each end. It looks like you made a mistake with assembly, even though that is how the kit builds! So I decided I needed to make it look more intentional and well thought out. ;)

Can anyone guess who woke up and demanded a seat on his throne? ROTF
So the good servant I am, I got busy with his request…

There is going to be a scroll at the top of the piece I am making now, it will join the same piece on the port side and sit at the top of the keel behind the Lion…looking forward to that. ;)
