Good morning Dean. Man we have been waiting a long time for the Lion to come out of his cage. He must be very chuffed. And Deans NL roars again. Beautiful ! Cheers GrantCan anyone guess who woke up and demanded a seat on his throne?
So the good servant I am, I got busy with his request…

There is going to be a scroll at the top of the piece I am making now, it will join the same piece on the port side and sit at the top of the keel behind the Lion…looking forward to that.
Thanks Grant! Yes he waited a long time!Good morning Dean. Man we have been waiting a long time for the Lion to come out of his cage. He must be very chuffed. And Deans NL roars again. Beautiful ! Cheers Grant
Thank you Paul!Very nice Dean. Your color scheme is beginning to gain some coherency.
Good morning Dean. I like the edges just gold it looks refined. I get your indecision tho as the edges are thin. Your call(as always) but if you stand back do those thin edges stand out enough? Answering your question with a question.. No help. Cheers GrantI touched up the paint and started painting the gold on the edges. I am undecided about whether to paint the entire surface gold like in the rest of the ship. I may have to put the other ones on first before deciding. Opinions welcome.
It will also start to look better once I put the board with hawse holes in it on the bow, because it is black too.
Here it is for now…

Thank you Grant, that is a good point, can you see them from a distance.Good morning Dean. I like the edges just gold it looks refined. I get your indecision tho as the edges are thin. With the Lion in it's rightful place, there's not going to be a peaceful moment until completion...I touched up the paint and started painting the gold on the edges. I think the gold needs substance, right now it seems unbalanced with the Lion.Thank you Grant, that is a good point, can you see them from a distance.
Thank you for the input Johan! That same thought came to me initially....balance!I think the gold needs substance, right now it seems unbalanced with the Lion.
Fair point. So I still want the Lion to be the focal point. So I think I will decide once all rails are on. It would be easy to add gold in the middle of the rails, the hard part is the edge painting!
Thank you!Oh, you're a cat, and there are lion pupils!!!fine work.
Thank you Lou! It was a hard decision, but in the end, I agree this is the way to go.Definitely better all gold! I think it actually lessens the tendency to overtake the figurehead, helps to kind of “point to it”? With the added benefit of seeing the awesome railing details!
What kind of arguments can we put forwards now? After asking the Admiral, she agreed all gold.
