Thank you Peter! What kind of arguments can we put forwards now?
It’s a good decision, Dean. It’s not looking overdone. It’s leads your view to the Lion. And he likes ‘some’ attention……
Regards l, Peter
Good morning Dean. Brilliant. I like the way you kept the thin black line either side of the center gold. Cheers GrantView attachment 368638
The look of intimidation to enemy ships!
I did another wash to bring out more detail in the hair…

Your carving is a piece of art, but the pose of the Lion is too much sit up and beg. IMHO not worthy a Norske Lowe.View attachment 368638

When he gets that axe I think the begging will become null and voidYour carving is a piece of art, but the pose of the Lion is too much sit up and beg. IMHO not worthy a Norske Lowe.

But I can't add the axe until I put on the bowsprit and see what angle the stay line is at that attaches to the front of the keel. The axe has to be inside of that line.
So in the end, the beg pose will become an axe wielding pose!
We'll have to wait and see. I'll hold further judgment until then. When he gets that axe I think the begging will become null and void
Nigel, thank you very much for your kind words, and for commenting. I really appreciate that! I am trying to make a version of the ship that I feel does it justice, because I too have a fondness for this ship. I have always loved the ships gallery’s and railings, and if I can do them well, I should end up with a nice example. There is so much work still ahead, but I hope to do her justice in the end.Hi Dean
I have been silently dropping into your build having a fondness for this kit since being a teenager. I must say your build is shaping up to be one of the nicest examples I have seen built from the Billing Kit. Kudos to you for achieving such sharp results from mostly kit supplied materials. I like it a lot.
Kind Regards
Nigel
Thanks Kurt! Not sure about a museum piece, I will just be happy if it turns out good! All that work in the lion and beakhead will make this model look like a museum piece. I'm going to borrow your ideas in layering wall and door panel details.
Thank you very much William! I did use pear wood on the wall trim and panels, on the edge of the decks, and for the coat of arms carvings.Hi Dean,
it's surprising to see the good result you get with a mediocre quality of wood provided by Billing Boats. Your painting work is very usefull. I really like
William
Welcome aboard, hopefully you will find some helpful information in my build log. I am taking some liberties on the kit and making improvements where I deem necessary. The paint scheme follows an example from a Danish Norwegian museum ship I found online that is very similar to the Norske Love.Hi,
Just ordered the base kit and accessory kit and are eager to follow the path..
Looking forward to catch up with your model...
In a five years time...
Many regards,
Harald
