I came across a new Proxxon, a 4-jaw chuck.. Great Christmas gift. The placement of the prisms is more accurate..

I wish all modelers a lot of peace and, most importantly, diligence and a passion for building in the next construction year 2025.

The Best of New Years to you and yours

If you use TWO sanding blocks, one on either side of the yard, you won't burn your fingers, and if the sandpaper is 60 grit coarse, you'll spin those dowels down into shape in two minutes. With the yard between the two blocks, you can press the sandpaper harder and evenly from both sides, doubling your sanding action and not putting any side pressure from one side and risk snapping the wood. Then go with finer paper until smooth. Holding the sandpaper in your fingers really burns!

I turn the yards using the Mini Easy Wood trio. They have replaceable carbide inserts which eliminates sharpening. Rough to approximate size then bring out the sanding sticks/wood file....and watch the pressure. I also prefer the collet turning head and sometimes a Nova Chuck vs a 3 or 4 jaw chuck.Nuestra_708.jpgNuestra_707.jpgNuestra_706.jpg
