Roter Löwe 1597 by Ondras71 - scala 1/60

On the MSW forum, they pointed out to me that the height of the masts was insufficient, which I calculated according to the table in the book "Mondfeld - Historical ship models" and the dimensions fit the plan. However, the lower sections (mainmast, foremast, mizenmast) still seemed short to me. I compared the masts to the Zeehaen plan masts and they came out about 10 percent longer. So the masts are extended..Explosion

The Main yard and Fore yard locations will now sit as well..

Hi Ondras,

I've seen you had questions on the rigging of this ship. There is a good book Peter Kirsch - Galleon: The Great Ships of the Armada Era. (German: Die Galeonen). There is a a lot to read about the rigging of these ships and a very accurate rigging plan. I used this plan and book from Kirsch and the book of RC Anderson - The Rigging of Ships in the Days of the Spritsail Topmast, 1600-1720 to make the rigging of my Spanish Galleon. On these ships there where used a lot of crowfeet in the rigging. Hope this is a good advise in your remarkeble build.

Thank you very much Stephan. I studied Dutch rigging from Ab Hoiving and I am satisfied with it. I try to follow the Dutch style.Okay
