Hi Tommy! I sure haven't given up but I did put it on hold as well. I haven't really had much free time to work on this but I hope I can find some time soon. Also soon I'll post about a smaller build I've been doing on the side.Hi Miguel
I haven't seen any updates on your San Francisco build. I hope you haven't given up! My build has been put on hold for quite some time due to some health issues but I have recently been giving it a go again.

The primary difference is that the San Francisco kit hull is one layer of thick planking and the San Francisco II kit hull is two layers, a thicker first planking to allow you to get the shape precise, and thin veneer second layer to achieve the final hull appearance. The rest of the kit is essentially equal. They made the San Francisco II to make it easier for beginners to build, and it was an improvement in that regard.I'll bite . . . what is the difference between the old and new kits?

It's funny because mine seems to be like a san francisco 1.5 mine has two layers for the hull but is different than san francisco 2. The instructions are different but were a lot more useful than the ones that came included in mine. Also there's a few different parts. For example the crows nest on mine was one only piece and already made. On san francisco 2 you have to make it and it looks differentI'll bite . . . what is the difference between the old and new kits?
