There's no particular reason.) I will install two anchor rope fairleads at the stage when I will install the windlass, I can't exactly locate them yet....
Your work on the model looks good, Pavel. I am at the stage in my Santa Maria build where I am putting together the windlass, and don't recall anywhere in the Guide to Manual where it discusses placement of the anchor ropes. Suddenly, they appear placed through the hawse fairleads in your guide pictures and plans.

Since it is a bit of a struggle to get to that front wall under the forecastle deck after the forecastle deck is put in place, wouldn't it be advisable to create those anchor holes now while they are more easily accessible, even though the anchor rope fairleads won't be placed until the windlass is in place (which, again, is where I am at now...)? Thanks...

I agree with you :) I didn't think this point through when I first built it.... Your option is clearly preferable, thanks for the hint...))
