"Santa Maria" 1492 a.d. Kit from "Ships by Pavel Nikitin"

There's no particular reason.) I will install two anchor rope fairleads at the stage when I will install the windlass, I can't exactly locate them yet....
Your work on the model looks good, Pavel. I am at the stage in my Santa Maria build where I am putting together the windlass, and don't recall anywhere in the Guide to Manual where it discusses placement of the anchor ropes. Suddenly, they appear placed through the hawse fairleads in your guide pictures and plans.

Since it is a bit of a struggle to get to that front wall under the forecastle deck after the forecastle deck is put in place, wouldn't it be advisable to create those anchor holes now while they are more easily accessible, even though the anchor rope fairleads won't be placed until the windlass is in place (which, again, is where I am at now...)? Thanks...

I agree with you :) I didn't think this point through when I first built it.... Your option is clearly preferable, thanks for the hint...))

I watched all Pavel's videos on YouTube today regarding the Santa Maria. What a terrific job of videography showing the build of this famous ship. I'm very seriously thinking about getting this kit.

No rigging yet. It appears the videos are a work in progress, but seem to be coming along at a fairly rapid pace.

I had only heard of the company yesterday morning on this forum. I'm not familiar with the other projects.

Yea Pavel from Ukraine,I think does most of the work designing, videos etc has his hands full, not to mention outside problems that we all know about.

I'll add a little bit about my work :) I have four ships at different stages of construction, three of them I film for YouTube, so the process on each ship is not moving as fast as I would like. In addition, three more ships are in the stages of computer modelling, so there is no free time...(
But I try to give equal attention to each project...)

Installation of the Maria's side planking continues
The photos are a bit ahead of the video release on YouTube, I hope the reasons are clear :)

I had never even considered the Santa Maria as a kit I would build until seeing pictures of Pavel's rendition. To me it a most historic statement and something I'd like share with my grandchildren.
