Thank you, ConsNZ.
I was 66 years old before I knew it.

Thank you, Bryantes.

Hi Bryantes!
Your beard looks cool.
Silent Mary, you're making progress.
One of these days you'll overtake me!:eek:ROTFROTFThumbs-Up

SilentMary-31-63.jpg
Make 10 handrail posts from 3 x 3 mm bars and 2 from 5 x 5 mm bars.

SilentMary-31-64.jpg
The handrail is built in using the posts that have been made.

SilentMary-31-65.jpg
Temporary assembly on the hull.
The thicker columns at both ends could have been made from 4 mm square rods.
But 5 mm square bars look stronger, so this is OK.
I am satisfied.

Make the handrail here.

SilentMary-31-66.jpg
We made a lot of props.

SilentMary-31-67.jpg
Now, the top of this part is the front side and the bottom is the back side.
Please take a good look at how it was glued in.
It's not cut and glued at 45°.

SilentMary-31-68.jpg
The posts are erected on the foundation parts with brass wire and the handrail is glued to them.

SilentMary-31-69.jpg
Well, this is how it is.

SilentMary-31-70.jpg
We will immediately try to temporarily assemble it to the hull.

SilentMary-31-71.jpg
This image is viewed from an angle.

SilentMary-31-72.jpg
This is an image from the bow side.
It looks quite deformed.
But it is emphasized and I think it is good.
It is my usual self-satisfaction.

SilentMary-32-13.jpg
Now the third handrail. It's the handrail on the top deck.
It was assembled according to the drawing.

◆Mini-drill story◆

SilentMary-32-17.jpg
The plastic case that used to hold the mini drill holder was broken.
So I decided to make one out of wood.
It is a convenient case that can hold a drill blade together.

SilentMary-32-18.jpg
When the lid is opened, this is what you see.

SilentMary-32-19.jpg
I set the drill blades I use most often in a pin vise holder.
Replacing them every time is a waste of time and a hassle.
From right to left, 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, and 1mm drill blades are set. The remaining three pin vice holders are free.

SilentMary-32-20.jpg
The white plastic case contains a dismembered drill blade.

SilentMary-32-21.jpg
The red plastic case contains a 20-piece mini-size drill set.

When I finish using it, I return it to this wooden case so it is never lost.
How do you all do it?;)

Love your organization! I may try building boxes for tools too but my problem is I have so many tools. I love building boxes!

I examined the rattles (rudder wheel) of the Silent Mary.
SilentMary-32-22-01.jpg
he rudder wheel appears to have 12 spokes.
The rudder wheel is doubled.
The spokes seem to be stuck directly into the drum section where the rope is wrapped around.
It's pretty hard to make this thing.

SilentMary-32-22.jpg
I drew a drawing of a rat (rudder wheel). It is still a very crude drawing.
I doubt if I can make it like this drawing, but I'll have to give it a try.

SilentMary-32-23-01.jpg
By the way, I checked out Capstan. It was just a glimpse at a ghost ship.
I'll just have to make it up as I go along.

SilentMary-32-23.jpg
I also drew a drawing of the capstan. The size and shape are not very precise.
As long as I am satisfied with it, I am OK with it.

************************************************************************************************

SilentMary-32-24.jpg
Begin crafting the rat (rudder wheel).
Cut a piece of 0.2mm thick suture wood 1.5mm wide.

SilentMary-32-25.jpg
To match the inner diameter of the outer ring, we adjusted it by wrapping paper around it. The 1.5-mm wide pieces of thinly sliced suture wood are glued together with wood glue to make the outer ring of the rudder wheel.
The inner ring is also made.
Set the drum part of the rat (rudder wheel) and the double rings, and secure them with thinly shaved toothpicks.
It is a little troublesome because there are 12 spokes on the rat (rudder wheel).

SilentMary-32-26.jpg
I managed to make one of the rats (rudder wheel). As in the movie, the wheel is double.
Other parts were also made.
The wooden frame and grating that will serve as the foundation, and the front and rear pillars that support the rudder wheel. In the sailing ship in the movie "Pirate of the Caribbean," the rudder wheel is usually set on a wooden frame and grating as a foundation, and the rudder wheel is fixed to it. Ropes are threaded through the holes in the grating.

SilentMary-32-27.jpg
The other side of the rat (rudder wheel) is also assembled with 12 spokes.
After the spokes are assembled, they are cut, shaped, and temporarily assembled.

SilentMary-32-28.jpg
This is a temporary assembly of a rat (rudder wheel). I placed a 10 yen coin for size comparison.
It is the first time for me to make a double-wheeled rat (rudder wheel), so it is quite tough to make.
By the way, the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman's rats were made with 10 spokes.
Now, this is also painted in German gray.

SilentMary-32-29.jpg
After the German gray is painted, the fading is represented.
The same is taken again.

SilentMary-32-30.jpg
Temporary assembly on the hull. I placed it at the position of the rat (rudder wheel).

SilentMary-32-31.jpg
Rope is also set.

SilentMary-32-34.jpg

SilentMary-32-32.jpg
Compare with scenes from the movie: ......
I think it's pretty good.
It's self-satisfying.
