Hi Zoltan,
The Pennsylvania would be far too large for my home, I try to keep my models less than four feet long and three feet high.

Mike

I really love the way you showed how to make deadeyes in you post and how to use a dividing head.

Cheers
Geoff

Thanks, Geoff,
About all the commercially available deadeyes or blocks are either boxwood or walnut, with the right tools you can use any wood you like. Ebony makes nice deadeyes but it is messy and you must wear a mask due to the dust.

Hi Mike,
AS always beautiful work. I noticed your ropewalk is it hard to make your own ropes? I have never tried.

Hi Mike,
It is very easy to make your own rope and a lot less expensive than buying it from retail outlets. I bought my ropewalk from Model Expo about 10 years ago for $20.00 more or less, it still works but requires some up keep every so often. With the more expensive machines you can do a lot more stuff and on my next model with I will retire the old one and upgrade. The better ones are $100 and up.
