YUANQING BLUENOSE - Peter Voogt [COMPLETED BUILD]

Well, Frank. This is what I tested and what I like. On the oiled side they show lighter and later on the side with the Ecoline they show (if it is still correct) darker.
And by the original they did not paint them either:

But painted the hull. It’s all a matter of taste and AL-FI.
Regards, Peter
Thanks Peter, mine was just an opinion but, having seen the Top of the image, I close my mouth

If you have already frowned about something while building, and after a night's sleep you still don't like it, then there is only one thing for it: to honor your membership in the club of 'restoring during new construction':

Hey Peter,
You have the same kind of disease as me! During my 57 years of model making, a lot of times it suddenly caught me! And as it happened to you, during a very sleepless night ...

What seems to be too much trouble in the moment becomes more manageable (and necessary) the next day... At first, I thought it was that I needed to build up courage - but in the end what I needed was coming to grips with my need to be satisfied. Respect.

I think most of us share this desire for quality, that doesn't let you settle for anything less. Because if you do, it will haunt you, until you fix it! ;)

That looks familiar -starboard side planking on the Willem Barentsz.

Thanxs for all the support.
I sat down for a while and she is almost closed again.
Just no time now because the storm Eunice has caused a blown tree on my neighbors house. It will be exciting because there are still a few more of the same trees bending or cracking.

And it is again satisfactorily restored:

Now that the oil has worked a little longer on the rest, the seams between the planks and by the treenails in the round seams get a small darker edge. Makes the drawing even more beautiful.
Can I continue with placing the treenails and other 'in between' activities.

I can't press "Like" to the news of the storm. Good luck my friend!
Glad you're a happy camper now, Peter!
Thanxs, Heinrich.
Still very windy here, but no more trees down. The fallen tree was a kind of oak. But useless for anything.
Glad with this step, up to the next. That’s the intention of ‘walking’, otherwise you won’t come any further.

The warthog finally has its load complete:

Almost 2500 screwed in on this side.......

Before I can sand this side of the hull smooth, I first applied the waterline strip:

This protrudes slightly over the edge and will be sanded into shape.

Now that the seam is filled, I can adjust the seam:

I had to put a small insert in 2 places. They'll go with the sanding soon.
Regards, Peter

Good afternoon Pietro, why don't you try the sanding with the very fine metalic retina? Try it on a piece of wood treated in the same way as the model, so I would do it

Looking good, I’m sure you are glad that’s done! ;)

Thanks for the option, Frank. But then I would have to buy it and try it out. While I have my different sanding blocks and discs in different grades. With which I finished the frames and later got the other side of the planking neat. I'm a bit conservative in that.
Regards, Peter
