Hi my dear friends
in the Last week I installed the planking boards on one side, while adjusting to the frames of the gun port windows.
Row by row I prepared and installed them, and later sanded and adjusted the window frames to form a uniform and beautiful outline.
In the last step, after repeated sandeds, I applied a fine layer of linseed oil which gave the three types of wood a deep color that complimented the wood, so that harmony was created between them. Attach photos documenting the steps up to the current intermediate result.
The last 8 photos are of the tree with linseed oil

I wish all of us a happy new year and may we have days of peace and prosperity

You are my man, Shota: using linseed oil on the wood of your model! The wood colors looks very nice.

Remarkable work, my friend. Nevertheless, it seems in the pictures as if the loopholes (red line) are tilted very strongly inwards. It should follow the green line more. See the attached picture of La Palme. It could of course be an optical illusion!

What I also noticed is that the side and top frames are normally covered by the planks inside and out, they are not visible.

What you see on the plan is the depth of the room.

First I would like to thank you for the compliments and valuable comments. First regarding the loopholes, I will check in the coming days whether it is an optical error or whether the angle needs to be corrected according to the green line.
Regarding the front of the window frames, I wish to commend you on your keen eye.
You're right, it doesn't match the configuration of the finished plans, but I allowed myself to keep the value in the initial drawing,20240925_214817.jpg
I thought it was very beautiful, even if I err a little on historical accuracy.
Because it highlights the shape of the window frame and its beauty inside and in combination with the planking panels

I try to build L'Amarante according to Ancre's plans, but still leave to myself touches that express my own way of building, as Sinatra sang his famous song: I did it my way:)

AL-FI (artistic freedom-free interpretation) was and still is a big thing in my builds. Some people are aiming at historical correct builds, while others are interested in an appealing presentation. Nothing wrong in my view with either category, as long as we're able to accept different point of views.
