Hello everyone, I have completed HMS GRANADO (1742) - midship section - POF by CAF in 1:48. I am very happy with the new material used and I really like the texture and color of this wood. Thank you Uwek for providing me with excellent guidance during the production process, and also thank CAF...
Apparently I stepped over to the dark side... )):= after many scratch builds and "old" type bashed kits I try myself in this very promising CAF kit. I ordered it as soon as Tom reported it being ready, a couple of weeks ago and it arrived today, after only 5 days delivery time from China, which...
There are quite a number of excellent CAF Granado builds posted here (thank goodness for all the insight and help they are providing me), but for my assistance much more than yours, I am posting this build log, trying my hand at this excellent kit and will post the good and the bad here. I'm...
Hi All.
Decided to post my build of H.M.S. Granado by Victory Models. The kit was purchased many years ago and gathered dust at different stages of construction.
The main reasons for these delays were the instructions and the lack of building logs for this specific kit. This is my first ship...
Hi All. A new year, a new project, CAF Model's 1:48 scale HMS GRANADO, full hull PoF kit. Just about everyone is now familiar with this kit due to the great reviews and build logs already existing on the S.o.S. site, but for those not, before l get into the build proper, l would like to do a...
Welcome everyone to sail with us again. This time, a brand new Hu design and processing method were adopted. In the subsequent journeys, I will introduce to you one by one. Thank you to our great designer "Song Shuang"

Good Day All
After reading some trully great posts here from Uwek and Stan167, just wanted to share my work on the CAF Granado section.
Some minor mistakes in the kit, already mentioned by previous builds. Had to disasemble and remake no 14 due to a xerox bad misalignment.
So far pretty...
A year ago i bought this model but didn't receive it complete. The factory got some problems with the wood.
Now finally the last pieces are received and because i finished black beards ship i cleaned up my shipyard and today i started building.
Need to say i also watch the video's that kevink...
At last time to get started. HMS Granado full kit by CAF. There has been much discussion about kits and cost etc and yes in the UK, total is over £1000.00 but looking at all the parts supplied and remember all of the work gone in to produce the kit then in my opinion it’s worth it. Box 1 arrived...
All parts No. 1 ~ 3 are available
No.3 parts are quite substantial.
There is only one drawing for part No.3.
All drawings other than the frame have only side views and vertical views.
I want a cross section.
The figure head is 1/48, which is small but has a good face.
I want a little more...

This I will show also later on when I compare the framing...
I've reached a bit of a milestone with 'Granado', in that I have finished all the frames, and I'm now ready to start fairing up the hull.
'What?' do I hear you say - 'I thought Ted was building 'La Salamandre!'
Well, yes - he was!
I'd better tell you the tale.
Many, many years ago, when I was a...
First of all, congratulations to CAF on launching Granado kit, which is a very successful kit and has a lot to learn from. Recently, many friends asked me about the development level of Granado kit and when to launch it. Now let's explain it here. Granado kit is the second kit designed by us. We...
Hi all, my ship came in last week and of course I was eager to figure out, how it goes together. Here's the start:
I was lucky to have a large 2.5cm thick board of Multiplex in my workshop which serves perfectly as a base for the build:
I built the stem today and it went very well...
