Artesania Latina Anatomy of Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory 1805

Thanks for you comments
The length of the loop for the side tackles that attach to the hull is approximately 13mm, the rear tackle that attaches to the deck is approximately 24mm. Note: they all need tensioning once the guns are in position
Thanks for the feedback. How long is the cannon hoist?

What do you mean by the cannon hoist ?
If you mean the breaching rope that goes through the breaching ring at the rear of the gun, I make mine about 90mm once completed and tied to the ring and eyebolt
The instructions tell you to start with a length 150mm long

Yes, thank you, just that one. Where is it said in the instructions that the length is 150mm? Anyway thanks again for your availability

Instructions video #37 Part 1

First off, apologies for taking so long to post this next stage
Part of this instruction video included making the quarter deck guns and I wanted to use better quality blocks and strop them with hooks for a more prototypical look, while searching the web I came across a site called HiSmodel that not only did better quality blocks but supplied complete sets of blocks for standing and running rigging as well as gun tackle blocks for a number of listed kits in various scales, so I ended up ordering a complete set of blocks for my 1/84 Victory. Although I had some brass PE hooks from a previous project, they also supplied PE hooks and eyebolts already blackened, so I ordered those as well. When they arrived from Czech Republic and I started to strop them it was obvious that the .15 thread in the kit use previously for the guns looked too large for for these blocks so I had to source some smaller thread. Surprisingly, two other manufacturers I tried, there 0.25 thread was smaller than the AL 0.15, perhaps that’s why myself and others had to drill out the holes in the smaller kit blocks to take AL’s supposed 0.15 thread.
There’s also been a holiday in between too
The hook method was more difficult to do and from a distance you can’t really notice it but I’m glad I made the effort
Due to restrictions on the number of photos you can attach in each post, I’m going to list Video #37 in several parts

Finally in this instalment, I build the ships wheel, a chest that sits behind the wheel and install a beam to route the cables for the binnacle lamp
