Bluenose 1/72 POF [COMPLETED BUILD]

On a side note… I wanted to illustrate how small changes can have a big impact on the overall final result. This can be as simple as a color change, or adding something extra.

Some may know I collect race cars (1/32 scale slot cars)…and recently I found a nice 56 Corvette to add to my collection.

It is already a decent version, however I felt it needed embellishments…lol ;)

So I painted the convertible top flat black and added some wire wheels with wider tires! Changed the look of the car and IMO is considerably better!

This is a case of a few small changes that have a big impact. I look for these opportunities all the time on ship models!!! You should too, it is rewarding to embellish your ship and put your own personal touch on it! ;)

I agree that the flat black top is much better and works well with the black body color. Having wire rims was a fortunate addition. What is the black rod from underneath the front bumper, oh man of many talents? Rich

Racing schooners and Grand Banks fishing schooners were dangerous places to be. BTW - How great that YQ supplies pre-shaped masts - this is a big time-saver!
Agreed! Less sanding, the better, as I do everything by hand usually! I added a piece of dowel at the top of the top mast for turning the ball. ;)

Just working on the Haarlem's bowsprit and thinning that by hand is a mission! :(
well, you can continue with your mission and shape it by hand, but why? You can use the simple cordless\corded drill to insert one end and shape using the sandpaper of various grits, IMHO. ;)
