Half Moon (Corel) (SM18) 1:50 Scale [COMPLETED BUILD]

Congratulations on your birthday Rob! May it be a year ahead in which you are blessed with health, enkjoy the company of your friends and loved ones and get a lot of model building done!

Thank you everyone. Still working on the 1st planking. About 1/2 finished and hope to completely finish today. I enjoy model ship building so much. Wish I wouldn't have stopped 40 years ago. With the tools we now have and the quality of the kits, building a ship is so much more fun.

Very good progress, Rob. Now make the next ship a single-planked layer! ROTF

Darn. I really did something wrong. I stood the ship upright and measured the gunports. I was planning on keeping all the gun doors shut. So, I'll correct the port side holes.

Starboard side at top of gunport opening. This is the correct location per remeasuring my ship plans.

Port side at same place...

This is where the top should be.

What is the best way to cut the profile out?
Use a super sharp razor knife or coping saw to cut just outside the line, then sand with a rough grit sanding block gently along the edge, not perpendicular to it or *SNAP!*, until you reach the pencil line. A power sanding tool may be used if you have very steady hands and you are careful. Hand sanding the final passes is safest.

Nevermind... my response was too late to matter. . .
