Good morning Kef, I ask, shouldn't the headers of the planking happen between the frames but above the frames, the under-beds are not assembled and from Kit? ThanksThe first beams and carlings going down in the lower deck

Hi Frank. Really sorry, but l am not sure what you are referring to in your question. Sorry. All l can say is the deck is built according to the drawings supplied with the kit and so far it is fitting (amazingly) exactly as it should. At least, if l have interpreted them correctly.Good morning Kef, I ask, shouldn't the headers of the planking happen between the frames but above the frames, the under-beds are not assembled and from Kit? Kef, it doesn't matter, it's the translation that doesn't make us understand, but, Thanks for answering meHi Frank. Really sorry, but l am not sure what you are referring to in your question. Sorry. Maybe the kit does not come with those parts,Good morning Kef, I ask, shouldn't the headers of the planking happen between the frames but above the frames, the under-beds are not assembled and from Kit? Thanks

Thank you very much for your interest and comments Uwek. l love this kit too and l'm learning so much about the way these ships were constructed. Fascinating.I like this ship / model / kit and your work very much - it is looking really good!
love to have the details of the rig you have set up for the keel suppoortI actually bought this ''building slip'' about 7 years ago. l believe it is from Billings Boats. lt is adjustable to fit any size hull. lt would be extremely easy to make one though. l could take some photos and give dimensions for the parts if you wish
bet you didnt take the exact measutement for the top of the keel post to part %a the top ofthe transomThe transom pieces are now in place. Final sanding and application of wood finish next.

You can take this measurement and all measurements you will need from the scale drawings of the hull side and top views which are provided with the kitbet you didnt take the exact measutement for the top of the keel post to part %a the top ofthe transom
Ifb so can you let me
know
THANKS
Sorry Maarten, if there's nothing underneath, how do they nail? (Fixing)Hi Keef,
What Frank means is that the joints of the planks should meet on top of a frame and not between two frames.
Actually I think for the outside planking of the hull that is true, as you need to water tighten the joint but on the inside ceiling of the hull that is of lesser importance. Actually the inside ceiling was not caulked.
ive got the same problem (Different frame) but it can be pulled in and i guess (Hope!) that when we fix the filler pieces it will get it all ship shape and Bristol FashionLooking very good - you are producing a very nice ships-hull my friend!
No.15 is this one, or (red arrow)?

Yes, this is the necessary learning curve.....
but I think it will be not a very big deal. The frames are long enough and flexibel, so I am pretty sure, that you can relatively easy bend the top of the frame 15 parallel with the others. I guess you have to fix all ends of the top timbers temporarely with a strip (green line) before you are able to make the internal sanding inside the hull.
BTW: Did you read my last question in post #84?
