Thank you Heinrich ! the ‘Fly’ is a wonderful project , a lovely model with a lot of admiration even during the build Rosie my wife loves it and it certainly will be a show piece at end of the dining table in her own enclosure ,cheers Robthat last picture is truly exceptional. Well done so far, Rob. She is going to be one mighty fine lady.
I agree the rigging is really bringing her to life! Great job Robert!that last picture is truly exceptional. Well done so far, Rob. She is going to be one mighty fine lady.
Thanks Dean , you are right , the rigging is paramount on this model , it is also satisfying to see the resultsI agree the rigging is really bringing her to life! Great job Robert!
G’day Daniel, valid point , however the the Yards have no obstructions in front of the masts , but with Stay sails fitted as well it can be a bit crowded I agree .Hi Rob, you have a really fine Fly build going on. I've always wondered where in the world would the sails fit in all the rigging, seems not much room left for them.
Good morning Robert. The rigging adds so much to these British ships of war. Impressive. Cheers Grantworking sheets on the Mizzenmast Mast , clue lines , etc , boom topping lift and yards , had to rectify a few sheets , unavoidable I suppose , I just cannot live with myself if I just left it as is , perfection is one thing , ignorance another

That they do. I redid a number of lines on my Victory. I can’t count the number of times I treaded a line the wrong way through the blocks. Luckily I mostly noticed this before I tied it off. We look like after a while. Cheers GrantThey certainly do Grant , I discovered that the blocks of the top gallant sheet on the Mizzenmast and foremast not correctly positioned so had to rectify that , these things happen , I am afraid

I once ran a line and tied it off, and being happy it was run, tied and glued, I cut the excess…but wait! …that was the good side! That they do. I redid a number of lines on my Victory. Been there, seen that, done that...I once ran a line and tied it off, and being happy it was run, tied and glued, I cut the excess…but wait! …that was the good side!
Oh, yea done that myself. It's an insulting shocker. Fortunately, never cut a shroud line yet, had plenty of opportunities and came close though.I once ran a line and tied it off, and being happy it was run, tied and glued, I cut the excess…but wait! …that was the good side!

Good morning Daniel. Can you imagine…..especially towards the end of the process….man. Cheers GrantOh, yea done that myself. It's an insulting shocker. Fortunately, never cut a shroud line yet, had plenty of opportunities and came close though.
I have to disappoint you Daniel , brass looks good , you are right , but I prefer the original blackHi Robert, thought I'd mention something that caught my eye that I really like. The brass fittings on the main mast stun'sl booms have a great contrast to the black/dark gray yards. All of mine are painted black but if I had it to do over again, I would use the brass look. That of course would be me taking an artistic approach to something that I'm sure was originally black steel.
