HMS Fly (Amati) 1:64 Robertd [COMPLETED BUILD]

Thanks Grant , I like the way the yards are secured , somehow running out of blocks , will have to get some more at some stage , am always in ‘research’ mode to get it as authentic as possible , bear in mind that the set up might be slightly different on each vessel, also I am not worried about some stains on the deck and or yards , these vessels are Man of War and not some show pony
Good morning Rob. True story. I think my build style also has those stains etc. Even if I seriously concentrate, continuous imperfections arise. Just as well we build war ships ;) .Cheers Grant

Since you're close to the finish line, what's your next one's going to be? It should be a lot bigger than the Fly; you're almost literally "flying" through this build. The "Zeven Provinciën", or a scratch build POF
"Victory"?
She's maturing fast, Rob! Thumbsup

Still a lot to do, especially things I have missed , I haven’t decided what to do next , the problem is where are you going to put them all ?I passed on a couple to my grandsons , I have a Bluenose II and contemplating changing the rigging to more authentic .

Good morning Rob. I agree with Johan. You are owing this so I think you should not chicken out like I did and go big for your next one ;). Although a POF Victory would take 50 years ROTF.

Throat Halliard fitted , , Boom Topping Lift and Vangs , and the show must go on…
The elevator from my eyes to my brains stopped working some time ago: I fail to understand 99% of what you're writing... o_O
Unraveling all the knots to turn this into looking like where you are now deserves our respect.

She is just getting more and more impressive by the minute, Rob, Like with @GrantTyler Grant's Victory, I almost want to ask - where do you get place for all that rigging?
That’s why it slowly Heinrich , also my question ? where are you place all the rigging ?? step by step and it all works out I guess , to be honest it is fun !

Looking good Robert! All this rigging you guys are doing, is making me dread putting masts and yards on my NL! ;)
Thanks Dean , rigging , a couple of blocks / sheets per day and sometimes just leave it for a day , but the rigging on these models do ‘make or break’ it so to speak one of the reasons I liked the model and with the right tools it is manageable

I tried the brass wire supplied for the stirrups , not happy with the result so bought black jewellery pins instead , so much neater , cut to length i see fit

Good morning Robert- Nice. Brass would have detracted from your yards . I recall how I fought with those stirrups to get the length correct as my yards tapered down. You are owning this rigging on your fly. Cheers Grant

Thanks Grant , with my magnifying goggles I look like a surgeon on duty , the amount of sheets are mind boggling as you will know , also to avoid any chafing with others .

I rather enjoyed putting the rigging together. Yep chafing with others is a no go- not easy though as the scale gives limitations. Your Fly is looking awesome Robert. Cheers Grant
