Hi Don, yes you can use this method for the Blandford main deck beams, the top part of the beam and the carlings thickness are 1/3 of the total depth of the main deck beams. You may have to leave the arm beams a single thickness and chisel the notches for the carlings. It is good to see you working on the cross section again. Good luck with the beams.

Limber Boards, Thick Stuff and Footwaling:
The limber strakes installed with a grove to support the removable limber boards, the thick stuff is added next. I used two full length pieces for the limber boards, indicating individual sections using a chisel and pencil lines. This model will concentrate on the structural aspect of the ship, planking only shown on the starboard side and open framing on the port. The framing and planking for the upper deck is a lot lighter than the gun deck. The foreword section ends at the bulkhead between the light room and the power room, I will be posting the power room and storage rooms next.

Filling Room.
The filling room is located just forward of the hold and is isolated from the hold and light room by bulkheads. It is below the gundeck on a platforming the center of the ship flanked by storage rooms for the boatswain, carpenter and gunner. The only access is by ladder from the gun deck. This set of drawings shows the framing and decking below the platform used for power storage, the second- and third-gun deck beams, framing for the forward bulkhead, and the beam column supports.

Storage Area Walls and Bulkheads:
I started with the walls for the gunner and carpenter storage rooms, they have individual doors and a partition between the two rooms. The boatswain storage has a single door and is installed next. The bulkhead at the light room has four windows and I added a shelf for the lanterns. This model only shows the two windows on the starboard side. Thanks everyone, these projects go a little faster when you draw your own plans and have some good tools to work with. After you have built a few English ships they go a lot faster they are all built the same way only the parts are a little different, maybe they just seem that way to me.

I worked with Jeff on the Magazine Project and several other projects, he is a great guy to work with and we built some interesting models. He is a lot faster at drawing than I am, but we worked well together.

Pump Well House and Shot Locker:
The well house is made from yellow heart using magnets, steel plate and a try square. I taped the try square to the steel plate and it gave me a square corner, a no brainer just took me 10 years to think of it.
