HMS Vanguard 1787 1:72 a Victory Models kit

Beautiful job on her !
Thanks Jeff for your kind assessment. I am happy mostly with how things turned out, but still need to find a solution for stable mounting.

I recently found this build and I agree with all that you did a fantastic job on a massive scale. One suggestion I would think would work well in this size of a case ( especially with no sails and the green base board) is using a dry dock slip. See example below. A little more work but would benefit and support that massive hull.View attachment 529380
Thanks RW this is a fine idea. I will look into what I might be able to do. It will require some scratch skills, which I do not have an abundance of.

Good afternoon. Wow, Bravo !!! I totally agree with the no sails look as your rigging is brilliant and detailed and we would not want sails hiding this. Your display case is beautiful (makes me envious compared to the one I hacked out for my Victory ROTF ) and I agree with Paul re the pedestals. A stunning model well done. Cheers Grant

Thanks Grant your words are always kind and soothing. I saw your victory case and it is worthy. These models are large and encasing them with only 35mm clearances requires a large structure. My corners are 30mm squared and 940mm long made from solid hardwood and everything still creaks and twists on moving.
