Cheers Grant
I am impressed by your rope work, Grant. That mice looks much better then the previous ones, in mind in what scale your are building.
Regards, Peter

Clueless about clewlines...a memorable quote. Thank you for that ROTF.
Good morning Paul. Here is something interesting- I did play on words and then when reading a 1806 publication from the British Museum I saw this. Thus I am definitely Clueless about clue lines. (When it changed to Clew “Clew” knows ;) ).

Good morning. Not much to show :

Top mast shrouds and the clutter of rope on the mast grows ;)

Made the hooks and whipped the futtock shrouds lines to these.

Researched the stays for the main mast. Per the Mantua instructions there are only 3 back stays per side and no stays as below. There should be 8. The red circles show I have to add 5mm dead eyes. the cross should not be dead eyes but a block system and a pendant lashing system.

The stays as they should be (well according to my look and see)
1. 4 Stays from the top mast to the large channel and 1 to small channel attached by small dead eyes and block system as follows -

2. 3 Backstays , being the shifting back stay, the breast back stay and breast back stay runners from the gallant hounds.

As discussed before in this log, made the jig to ensure the shroud dead eyes will be attached at correct height and lined up correctly.

I just need to serve the stays and fit them to the top mast and top gallant hounds and I will be ready to seat the main mast.

Cheers Grant

The prep work looks excellent Grant! I wish you the very best of luck with those shrouds. May the fairy of rigging sit Thumbsup on your shoulder and look kindly upon you!

Having never done any rigging yet I am in awe of your abilities Grant. I enjoy how you explain your methods and processes as you move along. Great stuff.

Your work looks amazing my friend!!! As a IT network guy I love seeing organized and tied up lines. I am curious are you leaving some extra length at the bottom then will adjust or are you measuring up with a mock if the tie off that you did?

Everything about this says you have it all under control Grant, shrouds, hooks, back stays, dead eyes, channels, gallant hounds, mice, the lot. I might not understand it all, but you've got this Thumbsup

I have just been going through your build log. Mighty impressive work you have been doing. Enjoying it immensely.

Hi Rob. I gave the extra length a go... couldn’t get right so went with mock ties and I was happy with them. Cheers Grant

Good afternoon. My ship building has been on hold for a few days a few more to go.... getting withdrawals ROTFROTFROTF Nothing exciting either had to have a tumor cut out my saliva gland by my jaw. Home now but still out of action.

I need to get more thread and with the cost of shipping etc to SA, I am going to order rope and blocks for next ship all at once.

I have a 850mm x 650mm spot in my pub for this ship and am undecided between the Endurance or the Xebec Cazador??? What do you guys think.

Cheers Grant
