HMS Victory Mantua 1:78 (first build) by Grant Tyler

Grant, what is the condition of your little furry "friend"
I have had similar experiences in my RC aircraft building days although I was always amazed that our cat would step between the wing ribs and fuselage bulkheads without touching them.
Right now, the cat is not allowed anywhere near my building. I seem to have lost patience in my old age.

Hello Ron. I would if I could- I have no doors into my pub/shipyard...I will have to make sure no lines, threads hanging down for her to play with. It has been repaired stronger now - just have to wait 24hrs for the glue to cure. Cheers Grant

Ooooh Shit! That is a state of emergency. I love cats and one always see how peacefully they curl up when some of our members are busy building, but, unfortunately, there is also another side to it. Look at the bright side of it - now you can pay attention to those little items that you weren't 1000% sure of. Sorry my friend, I am trying to find a silver lining here - love your attitude though! Big thumbs up for that! Thumbsup Thumbsup Thumbsup
Good morning Heinrich. Thank you. Between power cuts and “ fiendish” creatures by Victory is stalling a tad. All good tho and repaired. Cheers Grant

I'm very happy to hear that everything is well again with Grant's Victory and that Grant's kitty is still in good health!

Good morning- “Oh boy”- that is horrid. So deep into the build it is like heart breaking:(. Cheers Grant
There's no need for sorrow. It was almost a year ago. It was then I wanted to"upgrade" him with wooden dead eyes and blocks. And two years later I wonder what are 1,5m planks of pear are doing in my room next to a book that is same price as a kit+450 firefox bookmarks about modeling:)- and it's only tip of a icebergROTF. Any way. I hope fixing your Victory will be much easier

Good morning Heinrich When I went to my shipyard this morning this is what I found....state of emergency declared;)

@RDN1954 Johann, I did not like the look of itROTF. The top mast was broken off my lines all a mess with some of the tape I used to categorize these scattered on the floor. Some of the starboard cannon lids are broken off. (easy fix). Thank God that she did not fall off the table onto the floor. All I can assume is that our rescue cat (my daughter does these things) decided to have fun with all the loose rigging lines hanging downROTF.

My Victory went through Hurricane Ally Cat.

...and now she sits with me in my shipyard....little s&$t!!!

When I repair her I have decided to use larger and stronger insert dowels (previously used toothpicks) so this won’t happen again....although she will probably pull the whole ship on the floor if stronger:eek:

Nothing I can’t fix back to the way she was .

Cheers Grant
Death row??

Grant they say Thai tabby cat curry is becoming popular all over the world. You should perhaps look for a recipe. Good luck with the repairs.

That’s indeed a great disaster! I have also 2 off those lines-catching animals. But in rest the ship in the cover.
Good luck with the restoration.
Regards, Peter
