True Story- I see that in the photo now.The cannons and the trunnions are not glued in yet still want align etc. The trunnions came pre cut with the kit and this one did slide A little foreward. I centered it looks better (see photo below) not flush tho. All are like this. I will try remove one and not break the rigging - Filing them down probably the best option? Thanks for the tip Jimsky.....I thinkHello Grant, Completely agree with Doc (a.k.a Poul), the rigging looks great but...if I may make a small suggestion to cut 'flush' with the carriage the trunion. It will make the cannon erotic...

Thanks. Love your advice on mine and others logs it is invaluable. The challenge for me is not to break the rigging connections to bulwark when reinserting the trunnions. It is the detail and knowledge which you have That is so appreciated. I tend to miss the detail. Good morning. Consolidation time. Going back and adding small details. Going to finish everything I have done to date 100%. Going to loose track here as I did not make a list as @dockattner did.
Firstly re did my cannon trunnions as per @Jimsky advice. Then added forward cabin window doors and the decoration to the cathead. Plenty more to do

I just had a look at “Victory inside and out” by Jan in the scratch build section. It is like out of this world what he has made - no words.
Looks like you have gone with the current colour scheme for Victory. Thats great as the old yellow ochre is dated.

Thanks guys. As you know the colour of the Victory was and at times still is hotly debated. I went for the more softer salmon pink with a touch of ochre in. It does look better but is very light "sensitive" and at times can appear a little too pink or a little too fleshy depending on how the light catches it. However I do enjoy the overall look and appearance of what I managed to achieve.
Great work on the crow's nest Grant, and well done on the re-work to raise the border edges. It's one of those things that probably would have kept you up at night if you hadn't made the extra effort

Good Morning. Not too much work on Her Majesty’s ship lately as I have been getting my Husqvarna ready for Kalahari rally. Bike ready not so sure about myself.
Quick update on my build.
1. Skylight.
@dockattner siren was forced to come out. Kit directions just looked horrid and far from anything close to authentic.
What the directions suggested
I have also run out of 1x2 walnut (kit limited with wood) so the skylight made from left overs in my off cuts. I ensured I kept the last remnant of the wood so that I could line off the skylight. I did manage to finish it off. Stained the wood darker to match my ladders and achieve a little more authenticity. One coat of light Matt poly will be applied to finish it off.
2. The gallery hand railings. Nice toes Grant
I fitted the stanchions I made and rather than using a brass wire I used a 0.5mm thread. It looks more authentic and Fits my model better. Used PVa glue on the blackened part to stiffen it. On the real ship this is curved wood and I could not make this- did give it a go tho

3. Painted and fitted the Flag pole, the Transom knees and the flag lockers. Went for the look in the photo below and brush painted the white to try get a canvas look.
A few small consolidation item shown in this picture - shutter on stern window, decorations on hull finished and the closed upper gun port lids. I will have to redo these closed gun ports. The hinges on the kit do not fit snugly for closed lids. Will have to rethink this.
Anyway a quick update. Cheers all and enjoy your weekend. Couldn’t resist- she is ready

Hi everyone- reading my post I sometimes seem to criticize this kit. It is Not intended and it has made building my ship way more fun and rewarding calling my siren(even tho my skill at scratch building is at a beginner level) to have to make and research these changes. A huge thanks to everyone on this site whose models and sharing of how they do things has helped me massively. Cheers
