HMS Victory Occre 225 - build log

I am doing the same kit. Interesting how you completed the bottom of the hull. I did as well partially to leave the ribs showing. Also like the black. Great work.

Nice ship! I like your style and I’m learning a lot from it. Could you share a photo from the bottom back of the ship? The decorations under the windows seem to fit poorly on my ship.

A couple things I really love that you did.
Staining the frame work timbers
Adding the barrels and the grating to the lower deck.
Cannons look very nice.
I decided earlier this year I am going to build this OcCre Kit and then I’m going to tackle the HMS Victory anatomy from Artesania Latina and then the Caldercraft Victory.
Doing an experiment for myself to see what each kit does well and or could be better. Figure it will take the next 3-5 years but I’m looking forward to it.

This week, I took some time to finish the back part. I did not like the looks and method of how the brass parts were fitting to the hull. Luckily, I have a lot of spare wood from my previous builds. I used some very thin strips and fill the gaps and painted it black.
I'm happy with the results.

I like the black tackle on the rudder as well. The whole back of the ship looks tight. The rich color to the base plate on the stern under all the trim looks incredible. What stain did you use?
Well done.
I’ve been doing the little launches which I always dread on any ship.
