Thanks Roger, yes the hands are sometimes a limitation. I don't know how long I can go on with modelling. But I learned to take a break and be careful. Not overdone it, that make the time that is left longer. I have no problem with it, Because after a day of 2 it's over and I can go on. Planning things is difficult. But lucky I don't have shaking hands, just sometimes impossible to use them.Your work is even more impressive knowing how limiting arthritis is. I was going to write “it’s a pain in the butt” but for us modellers it’s the hands that’s especially the issue.
It's looking very nice, Stephan. Don't hurry, take your time to give your hands some rest. Thanks all again for your likes, comments and visit to my log.
This weekend I hoped the lion would be ready, but Saturday in the evening my arthritis in my hand showed up. and it was not possible to go on with the carving. I think I did the Friday to much. But today my hand is a lot better and I'm succeeded with one leg. Need a little fine tuning but it looks like I wanted it to look.
I take a pause today, and tomorrow I will go do the other leg.
Thanks for visiting

Thanks Peter, I take your advice. But you know what we say in Dutch when there is nothing to do... "Ik verveel me dood! Verveleritus." (I'm bored to death! Boreditus.)It's looking very nice, Stephan. Don't hurry, take your time to give your hands some rest.
Regards, Peter
Thanks Maarten, it is indeed the position of your hands holding the drill. I think it was my own fault. Because I lost time and was to long without taking a break. I need to stop every half hour for 15 minutes. And after 2 hour of working like that I need to stop and wait a few hours. I didn't do that Saturday morning. So I paid the price in the evening and the next days.Carving is most probably the worst sitting constantly in the same position?
Thanks Christian, you now me personally and I'm always smiling, so to make him angry is difficult for me.The is always looking really friendly. I like him.
Thanks Paul, one of the greatest compliments I got. Because I seen these other carvings here and there a a lot of great carvings on this forum. Mentioning this one belongs to them....WOW seems somehow insufficient. Among the best carving works I have seen on this forum. Congratulations, Stephan!
A very nice result to be proud of, Stephan. The invested time pays off.I want to thank everybody following this rotary carving of a figure head of a Dutch Lion.
Thanks for the many likes, comments and visit.
Exactly a month after starting this project it is finished. I only need to fit it probably too the bow.
Enjoy the pictures.

Wordless, I'm stunned.
I love this lion, friendly and probably a little hungry, you should feed him.
All joking aside, really great job.
