Kolderstok. Fluyt in oak

Update 38

For the upcoming model builders' day, I need to pay a little more attention to the flute.
One issue I've been struggling with for some time is the uneven spacing of the deadeyes on the fore shrouds.
I tackled that first. It turned out that I could lower the deadeyes a little without too much trouble, so without too much demolition.
It looks much better now.
The next step is to apply webbing lines and extend the masts with a steng.
But that will come a little later.

Good morning. That is a massive improvement. Excellent. Cheers Grant

Update 39,40,41
I started with knotting the ratlines.
39-1-knopen.jpg

And after a while I finished this knotting. One sailor has to test it immediately.
40-1-Weeflijnen.jpg

After finishing the ratlines, the “putting” have now also been placed. They still need a few more ratlines.
This is from the foremast:

And from the mainmast

I have also shaped and blackened the yards and I am now busy knotting the various blocks to them.

Update 42
Another step forward.

1-Fokkesteng.jpg
Here, the “fokkesteng” has been inserted and lowered with the “Fokkestengwindereep” just above the mars.

2-FokkestengMet fouteWindereep.jpg
Here, the stay rigging has also been installed and the stay windlass has been shorn. Unfortunately, something went wrong here. Can you see it? I will tell you in the next update.

3-GroteStengMetStengewant.jpg
Here, the main mast has also been placed with the mast rigging and partly fitted with webbing lines.

4-Stenewindereep-Groot.jpg
Here too, the yardarm strip has been shaved. On many models, this is not applied because on real ships it is removed again after the yardarm has been placed. It is not often that the yardarm has to be lowered on a ship, so it is superfluous.

5-BelegdeGroteStengewindereep.jpg
Here, the large steng windlass is attached with a tackle to a ring on the deck next to the mast.

6-totaal.jpg
And this is the complete picture at the moment.

But unfortunately Deepl doesn’t know the names of parts of a “Fluit”, and neither do I. I realise that the description at the pictures can be hilarious. Sorry for that.
When someone knows a site where I can find correct translations, let me know.

Update 43
In my previous update, I mentioned that I had started placing the stengewant and applying the ratlines.
However, something did not go quite as planned.

43-1-weeflijnen.jpg

The ropes were much too loose, so when applying the ratlines, you could easily pull them together.
I continued in the hope that it would turn out fine, but it didn't.
I removed it and am going to start again with placing the ropes.

Update 44
Last time, I showed you that the ratlines in the stengewant had failed. So I reattached them. And now it looks acceptable.
44-1-Stengewant.jpg

I also attached the main backstays
44-2-Pardoenen.jpg

and the main staysail stay.
44-3-Grootstengestag.jpg

The jib stays have also been applied and attached to the bowsprit.
44-4-Fokstengesstag.jpg

And the overall picture.
44-5-Totaal.jpg

So now it's time for the yards.
I also need to start thinking about how I want to present the model in order to best show its function as a timber hauler.
But that later.

First, let's continue with the Katwijk bomschuit.

Good morning Jan. Looking mighty fine indeed. The ratline redo is way better. Kudos
