Good morning. That is a massive improvement. Excellent. Cheers GrantUpdate 38
For the upcoming model builders' day, I need to pay a little more attention to the flute.
One issue I've been struggling with for some time is the uneven spacing of the deadeyes on the fore shrouds.
I tackled that first. It turned out that I could lower the deadeyes a little without too much trouble, so without too much demolition.
It looks much better now.
The next step is to apply webbing lines and extend the masts with a steng.
But that will come a little later.

Good morning Jan. Looking mighty fine indeed. The ratline redo is way better. KudosUpdate 43
In my previous update, I mentioned that I had started placing the stengewant and applying the ratlines.
However, something did not go quite as planned.

The ropes were much too loose, so when applying the ratlines, you could easily pull them together.
I continued in the hope that it would turn out fine, but it didn't.
I removed it and am going to start again with placing the ropes.
Update 44
Last time, I showed you that the ratlines in the stengewant had failed. So I reattached them. And now it looks acceptable.

I also attached the main backstays

and the main staysail stay.

The jib stays have also been applied and attached to the bowsprit.

So now it's time for the yards.
I also need to start thinking about how I want to present the model in order to best show its function as a timber hauler.
But that later.
First, let's continue with the Katwijk bomschuit.
To be continued.
