Especially when I see your work on the ST and can give you already now the confirmation, that you will do it in the same way or even better.
It is only the question, of a
- little bit patience,
- thinking before doing,
- some experience (this is coming automatically with some more ships) - and if you do something without thinking it is also experience
BTW: looking at others work like here in our forum is also very important to learn - we all learn every day something here at SOS
- not stopping to try to make it every time a little bit better
And most important
- enjoy the modeling..........this is the recipe.......and i am sure you have it

Many thanks for your kind words.......I can realy agree with you. I am able to enjoy this build very much, especially the work with the wood makes so much fun, due to the fact that the quality of the timber is realy on a high level. I think this can be also seen on my photos.

Yesterday evening I could not work on the Salamandre, so I made only some photos of an add-on to the kit, which I did not show until now in detail.
Included in the kit are one cutter and one longboat. These are kits and small projects by themself in addition to the ship. I will start with them, whenever I can not see for some time the work on the hull structure. But today I want to show you the content.
Due to the fact, that these boats can be also ordered extra or separate I will show you the kit content of both boats separate.

The cutter is packed in extra small cardboard box,
included is a small manual, mainly with numbered sketches and the package of parts


With every boat a small jig is included, the construction of the jig is similar to the La Salamandre


And these are the parts of the boat by itself,
with keel, frames, planking (thickness of timber is only 0,4 mm!) and rudder etc.


The supplier is telling in his advertisment, that the finished boat will look like this.......let us see

The parts are very small and looks very fragile, f.e. is the thickness of the planking only 0,4 mm and also the frames are not much bigger.
So I plan to make these boats, when I have not shacking hands, no stress at home or work,......upps! It will take a long time until I am able to start

Let me say this in this way......the kit materials are from high quality, highest quality for a kit.
But there is still room for the creativity of the modeler, You have still to think so much "how to make it?", "with which equipment or toll would I get the best outcome?" and very often "what shall i do?....... I think also very important is to have in addition the planset from Boudriot to build the La Salamandre best.
I am realy happy, that I bought this kt, which I can fully recommend.......

Do not be afraid.....No..... No additional photos of the same frames.....I know it is a little bit boring, also for me, but the time will change I can show you more new interesting construction details.

I realized, that I did not show the content of the small fittings which are in the content of the kit of the La Salamandre.

The rigging cordes and ropes. all together 14 different colours and thicknesses are attached. The quality looks good.
(one is missing here, but shown in another photo)


The different blocks for the rigging. there are single, double and triple blocks, but also fiddle blocks, trucks, deadeyes etc.
The quality looks good.


These are the bags of the carved elements, until now unpacked, I have to check them later on.....
The salamander which is visible is in very good quality (not a beauty, but from the carving point of view)


The main other small metal parts like two anchors, barrels, mortars, chains, brickwork for the stove / boiler etc.


and with a closer view to see the quality of some important parts like anchor, gun barrels etc.


The photo etched parts and the unpacked carved decorations I will show in a later stage.....if it is getting once more too boring.....

Hi Uwek, on the Ancre plans it shows that there are also three smaller positioning anchors used to align the ketch with bombing target. I intend to add those to my model. Are you considering to do the same?
I ordered the anchors from Alexy Baranov. To make his up his minimum order I also ordered some replacement falconets. The quality of his falconets are outstanding with very fine detail and a perfect match with the Ancre plans. I will show them on my log soon.

This would be very good to see what you ordered from Alexey Baranov. His quality is usual of highest quality and I also think about maybe to change some of the fittings to higher quality. But I never bought something from him until now. So I am looking forward to see yours.....
..... the very good thing with this kit.....there is soooo much time until I need all these things, so enough time to compare and order.

For these members which do not know the works from Alexey take a look at his model of the HMS Cumberland I copied long time ago from the web:

So if his anchors, guns etc. are only 10% quality like his ships........this is master quality modeling

Both you and ADC are doing a super job on the forms. If I ever get my RC completed, I would like to try my hand at this model, or something very similar. There bond to be a new model with all of this details when I'm ready to do another one.

Alexeys falconets are generic for French 18th century ships and very similar to Ancre drawings. I will post comparisons later today.

Many thanks for shwoing us in your thread the alternatives by Alexey of anchors and falconets to the kit content.
They are realy better.
But I see, that the content of the original CAF kit is not so much behind the russian ones. Means there is not this big big step in between.
