Hello Tobias,
Wonderful work! I really like your precise work.
I‘m also starting builduing the Le Rochefort and I will use your post as instruction.

Hi @carpi1968 , I'm glad if you like my building of Le Rochefort, thanks for your attention. You can post your building log here in group building at any time. Don't be shy, we are all beginners with some experience.

Hi Tobias,
where do you use the blackened glue? Only for the keel? Because your frames do not look like you used it.
Do you make the complete bevel for your frames with the card scraper (Ziehklinge) or do you first sand it and only do the last finish with the card scraper? This would mainly be different for the frames close to the stem and stern.
And my last question. What is the diameter of your square bolts you are using for the nails?

You've been doing a lot of work the last few days, Tobias. Beautiful connections on the keelson. And beautiful details with those square brass bolts.
Regard, Peter
Thanks Peter for your feedback, much appreciated.

carpi to your questions: I only showed the black caulking on the keel, i.e. only where the water has direct contact with the wood. This is not the case on the frames, this caulking is not absolutely necessary for display, it is a matter of taste. I only worked with the scraper on the middle frames approx. 7-21, the rest with the grinder. The brass bolts are 0.6mm thick, a bit too big, but the thinnest thickness that has a square.

Thank you for your great comments and for stopping by.

I had not much time in the last weeks to follow your log. And I will need a little bit time to read everything. What I can say: wonderful progres and a very clean build.

Christian take your time, yesterday and today I continued to build a little on La Palme.
