Nikitin San Bartolome 1584 A.D. (Kit #35)

Yup Jan - we are doing the storm this afternoon. It was 24 F at noon and it is projected to be -2 F when I (run) to my car after work... Wind has picked up considerably (-35 F wind chill forecast for overnight). Be safe and warm!
...stay where you are, you can always say to your wife that you are at work, and we will not tell her either. :p ROTFROTFROTFROTFROTFROTFROTF

Merry Christmas!
Oh wow. As I said very interesting storm. Stay save.

Yup, I have a daughter and her family heading to Mi to go skiing. They are predicting blizzard like conditions with fifty mile an hour winds and twenty four inches of snow. Yikes.
Here in Florida we’re looking at the coldest Christmas on record at twenty three degrees. I didn’t move from Illinois to have this :(

A very blessed Christmas to you and your family, Jan. I am still teaching today, so absolutely no Christmas spirit here.

With all the storm warnings coming in and all the cold weather predicted, it makes one wonders whether the term global warming is not just another phrase conjured up by those who have nothing better to do.

This a crazy event for us. A storm from the Pacific coast is racing across the US as a monster snow and cold event. It will merge later this evening with storm moving up from the Gulf coast. The combined storm is going to pummel the East coast. So first we’re getting warm temps and rain and then followed by a big freeze. As I’ve said, going to be very interesting. Paul is getting the cold and snow and we’re forecast to get rain and a big freeze.

Just checked: -6 F

For a South African, this is freezing.

We are halfway through the storm, the forecasted high winds are just starting (40 to 50mph gusts) plus another 1 to 2 inches of rain. Later this afternoon the temperatures are dropping to the low teens (15F/-9C). Saturday will not be a good day to be out and about.

This morning after the storm passed.

We're back to normal. Our generator ran for 24 hours plus, our Internet connection was down as well as our Land Line. The temperature is back up to a balmy 19F/-7C. No white Christmas, the rain took care of all the snow.

That is a great one, Jan! What was underneath the Christmas tree this year?

Funny you should ask. I was just viewing your thread about the knights. So to make a long story short, my Admiral knows I like reading about the Crusades. She found these at a Library book sale and gave them to me yesterday

The two sets are a complete series by the authors.

So no new ships to model but a lot of reading enjoyment in the future
