Nikitin San Bartolome 1584 A.D. (Kit #35)

Some days I just can't help myself. Curiosity got the best of me and .......

The updated page 112 of the build manual form Pavel's shop.

The neat clamp is to be used to hold the planks in bow, assembled from all the bits and pieces.

The circled part on the plan shows piece #20 that is used to align the three #21 pieces. Note for my assembly the hole for piece #20 wasn't cut out by the laser.

I am impressed by the addition tools of this kit. Nice that you show us also this part, Jan.

Hmmm. The kitchen table looks rather empty. I am sure the admiral will be very kind in allocating you a prime spot for her. If it had been the WB, she could easily have taken a corner space on the table while the table could still have been used for more mundane functions. :)

The Admiral has consented (after a lot of discussion) to a display location in the Living room. We have divided the house into equal parts. 90% for her (the first and second floor) and 10% for me (the basement). I’m very pleased with my negotiation skills.

Excellent negotiation Jan, i would love to replicate this, but our basement is just 80 centimeters high, so i would have to move first :):)
I was concerned that I might have to give up my little shipbuilding space on the 2nd floor. She generously decided ( after an outing to her favorite restaurant) that I could continue to use that space. Wow, I’m getting really good at this negotiation stuff.:D

Making a lot of sawdust.

Fairing in progress. Sand, vacuum, sand, vacuum, etc.

The circled area is where the first Wale fits into the hull. A quick dry fit shows that many of the slots provided as a guide need to be “adjusted”. I was a little timid when filling those before the frames were installed. It’s a “novice” thing, afraid of removing to much material. Not much of a job to correct, there are only twenty four slots on each side.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Good morning Jan. Freaking awesome!! The other side of the “novice” fairing is not being timid… I have just remove too much of one of my bulkheads ROTF…typical Grant. I think timid is the better option. I know I keep repeating myself but that skeleton looks so cool. Cheers Grant

Hi Grant,

Looking back at the way the “skeleton “ was assembled, I think if I had dry fitted the Wale in the slots I was supposed to file out I would not have to “Re-Do” this bit.

But watching Pavel’s video #39 (Main Wale) he also does a bit of fitting, cutting and sanding to get the Wale to fit. So no contribution required to the bad word jar.
