NORSKE LOVE - Billing Boats 1:75 scale

I got motivated to do some work on the NL. I am putting the walls up with the windows for the gallery and the upper floor that will have railings. It’s in the ugly stage, no sanding or trim work yet, just initial assembly.

Some Birthday Wishes and some Cake to activate your thread, make you 'hungry' to pick up the build, Dean. Nice to see some progress!
Regards, Peter

Thanks, glad to be making some more progress, it’s been too long. I wanted to show that the wall is curved and I glued a board at the bottom that I soaked and bent as guide and attachment point. The wall sits at an angle and is curved too, so the wall had to be soaked prior to gluing as well. So not a straight forward process.
Also the floor above was soaked and bent to follow the curve on top of the wall.
Next I will do the same for the side walls and add the pillars in the corners. Then I can add the trim work and get back to work on the window frames. I decided to be brave and add the windows last because of the wall needing to be bent to a curve. I can glue them in with tweezers when the time comes. ;)

I did the side panel, it had to be soaked and bent. Then I added the trim boards. And also added the column in the corner. I have to get the upper column on before I can do the final shaping because you have to sand a flat at angle for a figure to go on it. But that’s much later. But I started the bevel, it’s just not deep enough yet.

I also did some of the carvings that surround the side panel. And I painted. Once the red window frames go in, it will start to look more cohesive. There will also be the gold floral carvings between each window. And those will go on much later as well. There will be a lot of carvings that go on.
