NORSKE LOVE - Billing Boats 1:75 scale

Good morning Dean and Paul- you 2 get a 100% all the time. You guys remind me of those over achievers at school and university….. ROTF. Seriously Dean your NL is off the charts good. Cheers Grant
LOL...Thank you Grant!
I often think striving for perfection is a curse, because instead being happy with what you have done well, you tend to focus on what you have not done well. But in the end, I hold myself accountable for a certain level of craftsmanship that pleases me! ;)

This week I didn’t have a lot of hobby time. I worked on the stern galleries floor that had been started prior to planking. It needed to be soaked and bent. Then the sides cut parallel to the ship…

Then the sides beveled to match that angle…

Then the edge needs to be averaged at an angle to match the lower and upper boards…

I sanded close enough to glue…then the floor was added on top…

Then I finished sanding the bevel to match both sides…

Then I painted black on the stern and between the gallery floor. The boards above and below will be gold. And there will be carvings in the corners that are gold. That will be later. I am doing this to help establish the wales that will be put on next. Then I can start the cannon ports…

So it is still in the ugly stage…but moving forward! ;)

INMHO that is very difficult work which you have made seem so easy. To shape all those curves and bevels so that everything aligns so nicely is no easy feat. Superb work, Dean!

As modelling should be done ! we wish ! it looks absolutely fantastic Dean

I absolutely love the precision of your work. Great woodworking skills and so nicely shown with the pictures you took during the build. You are a master woodworker and let nobody tell you otherwise.

Wow, thanks Pter! That means a lot coming from you. The ship’s gallery’s on this boat will challenge me! I am only getting started on that! ;)

It’s all in the detail’, Dean. And you did is very nice. In the last pictures you can see the nice flow’s!
And there will be carvings in the corners ……..
A new challenge …… inspired by the result of your Lion and @Ptèr Peter and a few others with their skills?
Regards, Peter

Thanks Peter, I knew when I started this ship that I would be doing some carving. So there will be many. And Pter is certainly doing some nice carving on his ship! ;)

Beautiful work Dean. The P-51D Mustang is my favorite WW2 fighter. I watch air show videos of it with great sound on my headphones while I ride my recumbent exercise bike. My dad was a B-17 pilot at the end of WW2.
Thank you Daniel. My two favorites are the P-51D Mustang and the P-38 Lightning. However there were many nice aircraft from WW2. ;)
