Mój drogi przyjacielu MirekWitaj
Piękna praca Shoto ,jak wszystko wytrzyscisz i nałożysz olej będzie pięknie. Pozdrawiam Mirek
thank you very much my dear friend for your kind words and complimentsBeautiful work Shota. I too really like the contrast with the various wood colours. Your planking is very well done.
A big step forward and it turned out very nicely. I have the highest regard for it.
my dear friend I really appreciate your support and kind words + complimentsLove the look of different wood. Great work.
Shota, my dear friend,Tobias , my dear friend
First of all thank you very much for the kind words and compliments
the planking in the area that you marked in red in the picture, (made of ebony wood) is based on the plan in the monograph as well as the most impressive and beautiful work of our friend Richi (Giampy65).
I am attaching pictures from his diary

My dear friend TobiasShota, my dear friend,
I look closely at the picture, I notice that your planks (red) aren't actually following the same direction as (yellow). So my question is, what happened? I'm asking because I'll get to that point at some point.

As far as I can see, you have laid 4 rows differently here.
Thanks Shota for your answer. My dear friend Tobias
First, I would like to commend you for your keen eye. The explanation for how the boards were installed is that unfortunately it was a compromise due to the design constraints of the boards and the hard properties of the ebony wood.
Way to go Shota. Very nice planking.Good evening dear friends
Hope you are well
Tonight after about two weeks of work I reached another stage - installing the planking on the side of the ship.
Now we can see the combination of the natural shades of the 3 types of wood (Swiss pear, boxwood and ebony)
I have more sanding work to do, installing wooden nails, smoothing / final sanding and oil to give depth to the color of the wood.
So until then enjoy the pictures

thanks my dear friendWay to go Shota. Very nice planking.
A very nice appearance of the treenails, Shota.Good evening dear friends,
in the last three weeks I have been focused on preparing and installing the wooden nails that connect the planking boards to the hull of the ship.
I make the nail picks from boxwood that I bought a few years ago from bibigon in Russia.
These are square pieces measuring 1 mm × 1 mm. I round them and reduce their diameter to 0.7 mm.
The work is sometimes done even while traveling by train .
I would like to point out that prior to installation, experiments were performed on a pear board to ensure that it was to my satisfaction.
Since the model has 54 frames and the boards that make up the planking consist of 23 rows of boards, I am supposed to make and install about 5000 wooden nails.
So far, about 1800 nails have been installed on 20 frames. This is the interim result after several sandings and applying a layer of linseed oil.

That's turning into a very impressive hull, Shota!
my dear friends, thank you very much for your kind words and complimentsLots of holes and pegs!
My dear friendWait … WHAT? Aren’t you getting desperate? I mean, the first 100 or so are OK. And up to 1,000 is doable.
You really know how to create realistic detail. Hat off.
Kudos Shota. A realistic array of treenails. I (just my preference) enjoy seeing imperfections which create realistic views of the ships we build. Way to go. Cheers GrantGood evening dear friends,
