Purchased shortly ago / sthg new in your workshop -> present it here

It was time......yes time to do something.... and yes I have the age now, where such helps are necessary.

It is a clip for the usual permanent glasses I am wearing.....I was buying the Eschenbach laboCLIP

I have some clip ons that are heavy, I can only wear them for a short time.
I know this problem, therefore I bought these Eschenbach clips, which are usually used by dentists etc.
They have to wear them the whole day - Eschenbach is more expensive, yes, but you recognize the quality difference latest after one hour

I bought the lenses at my optometrist, and paid to much.....online you can order them for appr. 50 Euro

Today I got my new toy - a Hegner Multicut SE Scrollsaw with variable speed

Hmmmm, any plans for the future with this loveley tool, @Uwek :)
First of all:
to have it !!!! :)
and second:
I am thinking about building the La Venus in scratch

or the "new" frigate of @G. DELACROIX - the L'Egyptienne

Many Thanks for the interest in these two frigates
And maybe, after Gerard´s monograph is published and the coming planset review, I will start a small Poll.......in order to get some opinions.

Here some drawings for comparison:

L'Egyptienne - 24pdr 48 gun Forte-class

BTW:
Last year I made a topic in the ship history and research area about the 48 gun 24 pdr frigate Égyptienne . A Forte-class originally started as a 74-gunner, but during construction she was reduced to the heavy frigate

Carving Tools. I booked also a workshop to sharp carving tools and knifes. At the moment i am a vicitm from my tools. Time to change this.View attachment 105553
Very good german quality product - they will live longer than we all, if you use them with care -
sharpening is problematic - I bought a great set from a russian tool manufacturer - beautiful - but how to sharp them? this is the big question

"Victim from my tools" - I know this very well - but these are "investments" - and only cents per working hour - enjoy them

Hi Uwe,

I know the russian irons. The problem with the sharpening was a topic on the last AK-Stammtisch in Augsburg. Nobody knows how to handle it. Maybe its good to ask the manifacturer. He has his routine and know the tricks.
But i know a lot of people how carvs with simple tools from china or from the 1-Euro-Shop with incredible results. They told me that the secret is the sharpness, the sharpness, and the sharpness. ... and a little bit routine.... :-)
