You are so correct when you say , “ The process required precision and patience, “... but you forgot to mentioning “hair pulling”, that’s what I went through building my rudder and hinges and I don’t have the machinery you do.
They look “very well made.”

Hello dear friends
For the past week I have been I continued on building the rudder of the ship.
After the previous update, I realized that what I built is not good enough, with an emphasis on the set of hinges that connect the rudder to the keel.
The shell of the hinges was too prominent. Therefore I disassembled the casing of the hinges and also created the gaps / sockets in the rudder to insert the hinges of the rudder.
then I made the top of the rudder and also the connection to the rudder on the top deck of the ship.

I built an old model of the Hanna several years ago. It was on of the colonial vessels I had been looking for. I understand not many kits still exist.

Today I continued building grating of lattice on deck and bow.
The process began with the formation of a kant on the board, cutting and grinding the boards at 45 degrees.
I then created the frames and later the lattice from two types of wood - poplar and cherry and in different scales. Attaches for you pictures documenting the process and result that I like and complete them.

Wellcome back Shota. Grates and coamings look beautiful. I have that AL's scraper too but I can't use it succesfuly. Maybe because of the type of wood that I use.

Comparing the bigger size grating and the two smaller one´s - we can see the difference in the distance of the timbers.
Maybe you could consider to redo the two smaller gratings in the smae style like the last one.....
