the Colonial Schooner Hannah in 1/48 [COMPLETED BUILD]

And there we go my friend! What a tremendous sense of accomplishment you must have to know that everything you see was made by your own two hands. I can't wait to start my scratch build.

Hello dear friends
For the past week I have been focusing on building the rudder of the ship. The process required precision and patience, the truth being that at every stage of the ship’s construction. Attaches photos documenting the stages of work and the result.

Shota:
You are so correct when you say , “ The process required precision and patience, “... but you forgot to mentioning “hair pulling”, that’s what I went through building my rudder and hinges and I don’t have the machinery you do.
They look “very well made.”
Congratulations.
Julián

Very nice work for the first POF build Shota. I also like your beams a lot.
thank you very much, my friend :)
Your compliments and opinions as well as those of the other members provide me with strength and encouragement to continue to develop in the quality of work and the products that are reflected in the ship model. By the way your blog is used for me to study and inspire where else I can and should develop in the field.

Dear friend, I would be happy if I could contribute to your model. Regards.

Hello dear friends
For the past week I have been I continued on building the rudder of the ship.

After the previous update, I realized that what I built is not good enough, with an emphasis on the set of hinges that connect the rudder to the keel.
The shell of the hinges was too prominent. Therefore I disassembled the casing of the hinges and also created the gaps / sockets in the rudder to insert the hinges of the rudder.
then I made the top of the rudder and also the connection to the rudder on the top deck of the ship.

Attaches photos documenting the stages of work and the result.

Hello my dear friends :):)
I am delighted to open a new log to document the ship building process.
Many of you are familiar with The Hannah
& The Practicum by Robert E. Hunt.
some of you have even built as documented on the site.
I have been asking for several years to develop and advance my ship's building capabilities from a made kit to Scratch or from plans.
I am happy to share that thanks to this site I got to know a dear man-stuglo, who agreed to meet with me and to invested a lot of his energy, knowledge and abilities Teach me this subject.
Today I started the first step , with the keel
of construction, of course I attach a few pictures
Wishing us all a fun and successful weekendView attachment 162271View attachment 162272View attachment 162273View attachment 162274View attachment 162275View attachment 162276View attachment 162277View attachment 162278View attachment 162279View attachment 162280View attachment 162281View attachment 162282View attachment 162283View attachment 162284View attachment 162285
I built an old model of the Hanna several years ago. It was on of the colonial vessels I had been looking for. I understand not many kits still exist.

Dear Friends
With your permission, I will bless my country on the occasion of its 73rd Independence Day, Screenshot_20210414-214130_WhatsApp.jpg
which was established in the name of the Israeli Brotherhood.
The story of a nation returned to Israel after 2000 years of exile in all corners of the world and revives a language that has not been heard for decades. We are far from perfect, but try to make peace with our near and far neighbors, among all tribes of Israel, with democratic values, innovation and Israeli brotherhood.

long live the state of IsraelExplosionBottle:DIMG-20210414-WA0004.jpg

Hello dear friends
Today I continued building grating of lattice on deck and bow.
The process began with the formation of a kant on the board, cutting and grinding the boards at 45 degrees.
I then created the frames and later the lattice from two types of wood - poplar and cherry and in different scales. Attaches for you pictures documenting the process and result that I like and complete them.20210417_155746.jpg20210417_155823.jpg20210417_164659.jpg20210417_165412.jpg20210417_165825.jpg20210417_165842.jpg20210417_173419.jpg20210417_175913.jpg20210417_184652.jpg20210417_184718.jpg20210417_184718.jpg20210417_184652.jpg20210417_184747.jpg20210417_184935.jpg20210417_184950.jpg20210417_185011.jpg

Wellcome back Shota. Grates and coamings look beautiful. I have that AL's scraper too but I can't use it succesfuly. Maybe because of the type of wood that I use.

Dear mtbediz1
Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it Your assessment is worth checking out during the job

Comparing the bigger size grating and the two smaller one´s - we can see the difference in the distance of the timbers.
Maybe you could consider to redo the two smaller gratings in the smae style like the last one.....
