USS Constitution by Model Shipways 1:76 scale

I can relate. Small bites. Chew slowly. Swallow with a sip of scotch (or your beverage of choice. ;))

Hello,
I was just was just wondering if the canopies over the hatchways were part of the original design or if they were added in modern times?

Bluejacket also gives great service and advice. They have a large selection of parts and fittings. I have relied on them a lot over many years.
So too have I. In fact, I contacted them last year about an old 1960s era kit of the Half Moon. They were able to help me quickly. Yes, the kit is long, long out of production.

Setting up the Royal and TopGalant shrouds needs special attention.
On one side you have to attach the Shrouds into eyebolts in the swivel gunchock, then passing through each time 5 closed hearts upto the masts...
I made a brass tool with 5 round holes each, which I then attached to the rope ladders...
Worked very well... :)

After completing the rigging of the Royal and Topgallant shrouds I decided to start the rigging of the Bowsprit.
But that is also easier said than done. After all, the plan is insufficiently detailed. For example, I missed the Outer Jib stay....and the Flying Jib.
May I be so bold as to advise everyone to consult the photos from the CON before starting?

Cheers,

Marc
