Revenge 1577 1/64 Victory Models/Amati

Grant, no, those are paper- there are a bunch of different “decals” for lack of a better word, they come in the kit for the bulkheads and the side upper hull areas. They look pretty good and actually work well, I could never paint those intricate designs….
They really came out realistic- so pleasurable when a kit works for you like thatThumbsup

paper decorations ..., never hear before and a good idea at that! If they take a varnish coating one would never know and think you
a hell of an artist at that. Looks like. a fun model

Got two more bulkheads done today, well done except for the photo etch parts for the doors and some trim… if I wasn’t so obsessed with changing the wood that shows over to Pear it would go a lot quicker but I’m not in a race and the Pear is soooo nice! Here’s a look at the aft fo’c’sle and the fwd quarterdeck bulkheads……C67AB072-E74D-47AD-A39F-4F38EEDF4B63.jpeg284E67B8-2CB3-4079-9EB9-21F9E82DB7F2.jpeg

Your build is looking fantastic, great job.

Well, I slowed down a bit to watch some of the Olympics, but mostly because I’m doing fiddly little photoetch stuff…. Just reinforces my dislike of painting on ship models, one, I’m not very good at it, and man! It takes a long time to do it…. But I did get two bulkheads done so getting closer to putting the sides on the upper hull!1FF97B19-DD45-479F-83D5-156FBC8CC5CE.jpeg27330692-645D-48D0-8501-C33E32880B87.jpeg

Thanks everyone for looking in and the likes, and I agree, the pear will be a huge improvement to the overall appearance when it’s further along, here’s the rest of the bulkheads being glued in, the side bulwarks needed some adjustments fore and aft, to align with the bulkheads correctly. Consequently, some gaps appeared - I’ll show you when I get them on….D866B51B-4D42-46EB-B401-A825F416C2E9.jpeg

What do you guys use for lighting to take the photos? I’m no photographer but would like a little more detail in the pics to show (sometimes) :)

Faired up the bulkheads and made some adjustments to the upper gun deck/bulwarks ply patterns, painted the upper portions white to coincide with the paper color patterns (installed and more to come) and then took the plunge and glued them on, they really fit quite well, but alignment with all the bulkheads and the final stern piece is critical….little bit of dress up on the inside of the fo’c’sle, main, quarterdeck and poop decks to do and then it will be time to finish the B370169E-A91F-431F-B9A0-C93B36F881B1.jpegC1B92B67-3B0D-463A-8028-6A9C12C4DE0A.jpeg68A5EC83-3E7A-47A9-8EB5-9AD7E115EA23.jpeg56D6E757-115A-4C09-B970-ECA0D952FBF5.jpegplanking!

So I was hoping to start building one of my POF kits from CAF but I have a couple models that I have already started and I know I should really work on them before starting another one :( I also have the Yuanqing Bluenose in work so I guess I need to work on my discipline and finish something before starting a new build…. I hate discipline!!! :)
I started this kit in early 2020, it’s a very nice kit, good wood selection, lots of construction plans, awesome rigging plans, and a color booklet of pictorial instructions. I have had some issues with the bulkhead uprights (extensions) breaking, so care needs to be taken when rotating the model for planking.View attachment 281450
