HMS Enterprize 1/96 by Modelship Dockyard

Great to see you go for it. The limber boards are a really nice added touch. Keep in mind they had to be short so they could be lifted by hand. 3 feet is the dimension I have found in the past. If easier maybe use a long piece and scribe lines to replicate two pieces up against each other.

Did a practice run, Isopropyl alcohol to break the surface tension once things are organized how you want them then a mixture of water and hogpoge matte

Dried very nicely. Installed the timber boards, took @AllanKP69 advice and made long boards and made them look individual. Did a mixture of medium as the base, threw a couple of large on top then mixed in the finest stuff at the end to fill in the rest.

I'm not going to go all the way to the bow, this should end right around where the next platform begins. It wasn't dry when I took these photos so you can still see the white of the glue, but that will dry clear and matte and will look nice.

That's far way better!! Great Job, mate!

So I missed on the plans where the elbows change direction and around beam 9. Luckily I didn't get very far before realizing the issue. 20241217_235243.jpg

The beam post isn't centered anymore since I installed that after everything was glued in place the wrong direction. Escaped with minimal damage to the different pieces but no way to correct that post without likely breaking it.

You can't really tell from above anyway, and that's all that really matters.

First platform complete.

So the cross pieces are too thick. There's two different options, there are 1.5 mm x 1
5 mm pieces on sheet L then there are .5 mm x.5mm pieces on an unnamed sheet. I didn't see this sheet when I first stated and nowhere on the instructions does it reference this sheet. So the first platform was built with all 1.5 mm pieces, this is why you start with the smallest most bottom piece first i guess.

The rest of the platforms should be pretty straightforward. Again using CA glue because the platforms would be too fragile with wood glue. You have to be able to sand and the CA glue will withstand the pressure better than wood glue.
Hi. I am trying to find the .5 mm for spacers for the ribs. Have they not labelled this sheet then. Is it lurking in the bundle somewhere?
Bit baffled here ?

They are not labeled! And they are hard to find. They are sheet T, they are the strips on the end.

Many thanks. Isn’t sheet T . 1mm thick ?

Meanwhile, just found this in the instructions. Sheet W ?

You know what, you're right about sheet T. I think it was Sheet W, whatever sheet wit was on I don't have any of that sheet left to double check. Sheet W makes sense because if I remember correctly I was also frustrated until I finally found it. The other resource that is helpful is the youtube videos. they only did a few but they help

Just spent a couple of hours really looking through your build. Fantastic work.
I am now starting mine and this scale is quite intimidating but fun.
Note to the manufacturer…….. Desperately needs a classier display stand than the one included. Looks and is poorly designed.
This ship needs it.
My opinion only of course. Lol.
