Many Thanks for your interest in my log
Very nice!

The only thing I can ad about the Clou is to apply it outside. It is not so healty indoors, it takes your breath
For bigger parts (or longer work) maybe necessary - I use it regular, and had until now no problems like you described
It is smelling, yes - but I use it usually for the regular work only indoor....... and open the window afterwards to get fresh air ;)

my dear friend :)
Very impressive and precise work on the doors and walls. Hats off to you for your patience with the thousands of nailsThumbsup

After counting the number of nails and drilled holes, let us come back to the real work on the model

The doors included in the kit have this window cross

but I guess the sleeping room of the captain and also the entrance door to the main cabinet was different - I think such a louvre or blinds were installed here

I made it also to have a little bit more details to see inside the model

View attachment 369643

The doors got some hinches and also doorknobs - I did not blacken them - I can imagine, that they used inside some polished brass

all is still dry fitted - now ready for the "CLOU"- treatment and the final installation

Many Thanks for your interest ..... to be continued
Good morning Uwek. I don’t know how you guys do it. Brilliant. Cheers Grant

Many Thanks to all for the kind words and all the likes received

Have you tried Clou with boxwood, Uwe?
Yes - I have used CLOU also for the treatment on my section model of the HMS Granado

In the building log you can find photos of before and after

It is time to make the first thoughts about the way I will arrange the planking, either on the forecastle and also on the poop deck

Let us take once more a view on the Leightley model in the National Maritim Museum

Granado_bomb_vessel_model1.jpg

The poop is decked on both sides with the waterways, in the center with two main planks, and only closed in the beginning and the end of the poop deck.
This is giving a very good view inside the cabins

with a copy of the CAF drawing I tried to simulate a similar way

Witaj
Pozdrawiam Mirek

Hello
Beautiful work Uwe I like the sheathing from the museum a lot shows what's inside and you have beautiful details so show them as much as possible. On the other hand, each of us, starting the construction of the model, has visions of what it will look like after making it, so follow it. Regards, Mirek
